The thing that stinks about this for this year is that it's one less practice player from an already depleted squad.
As far as implications for next year...I think we'll be just fine with Gibbs and Correia. And actually, we could use the scholarship for a big man instead of yet another 6 ft guard. DK's style, even as far as guards are concerned, is better suited to taller, stronger players.
This is all assuming that Wiggins has done something bad enough to get kicked off, of course.

That scholarship's already used up, and so's the one belonging to next player who leaves.DEM wrote: As far as implications for next year...I think we'll be just fine with Gibbs and Correia. We lose DK's home debut to Jax State, and this morning I see the Wiggins thing on ESPN2's Bottom Line.

Now it starting to make some sense.UMASS06 wrote:Apparently he got really drunk and passed out in the wrong apartment. If anyone has ever lived in or seen Pufton they can understand how that place could get confusing to someone. Especially a drunk someone.
If that's the case, are all of you who were so quick to kick him off the team still willing to do so?

Why aren't people locking their doors is my question? I lived there and made sure the door was locked every single night because of the amount of late night foot traffic. These things do happen, and it is very easy to get confused walking around Puffton, but the people who live there need to have some common sense too.
Yes. The kid is lucky DK gave him a 2nd (3rd, 4th?) chance to even be here. He needs to be the model citizen of the team. We all do stupid drunk things, especially at that age, but there's a point where you have to wonder about his committment to turn around his behavioral issues.UMass87 wrote: If that's the case, are all of you who were so quick to kick him off the team still willing to do so?
It's like the whole Pacman Jones thing. There's certainly nothing wrong in my eyes with going to strip clubs, but if you have a pattern of incidents in them that threaten your multi million dollar NFL career, maybe you should head home and watch TV instead.
He didn't even last one semester before dragging the UMass name through the mud in the media. Good riddance. I don't want my school to be the next Cincy or ConU.

Now that's a classic-- it's the fault of the tenants! I hope poor Wiggins isn't cast in a bad light due to the reckless actions of these inconsiderate students.InnervisionsUMASS wrote:Why aren't people locking their doors is my question? Oye vai. I didn't take any blame away from Wiggins. I just don't understand why people don't have their doors locked. If Wiggins broke in, whole different story. Heck, him walking into the wrong apartment is wrong as well as he should have been aware of his surroundings, but I still can't contemplate why people don't lock their doors. If you live in Puffton, you know there are drunk people stumbling around Sunday through Saturday, 7pm til 7am. That part of it confuses me.
I'm not blaming them instead of Wiggins (even though we don't know the full facts yet...) but it just doesn't make sense.
