no, we should keep giving him chances because he is a good basketball player, seems pretty fair to me.

He should never wear a UMass uniform in my opinion.

Old-school - I'm not saying he should or should not be on the team. I was fairly ambivalent when he was brought in. The story just seems a little odd to me. I'm not going to pass judgment at a minimum until someone with considerably more information makes it public.

All those apartments look the same - maybe he was out for an early morning run after an all night studying session, accidently went in the wrong apartment and jumped in the shower before studying some film.

What is intent to commit a misdemeanor? Most B&E's are linked to felonies. That's strange to me so I'll wait and see what happens with this.

However, it seems to me that if your going to bring a problem child into your house you would want to keep a close eye and tight leash on him. You also make an agreement with that child as to requirements to stay in the house. The consequences for breaking the agreement should have been in place from the beginning and should be more than that of regular students and/or scholarship athletes because of the history.

I wonder what the agreement was, if any. I beleive in many chances for young people when they can show they deserve it and I hope when this all shakes out Doug can show he deserves another chance.

This is a kid who said this in his Bio questionnaire:

"Best Part about Living in Amherst: Nothing around to get you in trouble"

You really have to be looking for trouble to be out at 3:48 AM snooping in someone else's apartment.

Yea, wait for all the facts, but if it is what it seems... see ya later.

Unless your hanging out with the coeds, or at a college party. or something college students do. Though he should have had a curfew to start with, along with regular drug and alcohol testing.

Me thinks David Gibbs just got a leg up on next year's point guard job. Though Correia's steal last night impresses me too.

David, learn from your friend's stupidity!

Gary, keep up the hustle!!

Adios Wiggins! Bring on those recruits!!

The Wiggins story made the front of ESPN.com's college basketball page

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=3725889

I will be very interested to see how DK handles this whole thing. Last year Cal was getting a lot of heat for being very inconsistent with punishments and I know that as a new coach diciplining players must be one of the hardest things to deal with. DK needs to really work hard to learn he is not a friend to these players, he is their coach. This is not an easy task, weather it be at the high school or college level.

Maybe if DK was a coaching vet he might have to think about what to do, but as a rookie coach I think he needs to set the tone and toss Wiggins right away, just for his past history and being out at #;48 in the morning
Hire Matt McCall!

Joe Jackson would be a sweet signing to take Wiggins' spot
