What is intent to commit a misdemeanor? Most B&E's are linked to felonies. That's strange to me so I'll wait and see what happens with this.
However, it seems to me that if your going to bring a problem child into your house you would want to keep a close eye and tight leash on him. You also make an agreement with that child as to requirements to stay in the house. The consequences for breaking the agreement should have been in place from the beginning and should be more than that of regular students and/or scholarship athletes because of the history.
I wonder what the agreement was, if any. I beleive in many chances for young people when they can show they deserve it and I hope when this all shakes out Doug can show he deserves another chance.

This is a kid who said this in his Bio questionnaire:
"Best Part about Living in Amherst: Nothing around to get you in trouble"
You really have to be looking for trouble to be out at 3:48 AM snooping in someone else's apartment.
Yea, wait for all the facts, but if it is what it seems... see ya later.

I will be very interested to see how DK handles this whole thing. Last year Cal was getting a lot of heat for being very inconsistent with punishments and I know that as a new coach diciplining players must be one of the hardest things to deal with. DK needs to really work hard to learn he is not a friend to these players, he is their coach. This is not an easy task, weather it be at the high school or college level.
