They have the rights for him... A good thing bout summer league also is many international scouts come to the games looking for players as well. So he has many reasons to play hard.Ulan131 wrote:if a player plays for a teams summer league does that team have exclusive fights to him or can any team sign him?

Just as an FYI, the Wizards have only two open spots on their roster that they are hoping to fill with Arenas and Jamison. Because of this, the wizards traded Walker's rights for cash immediately after the draft. It would be awesome if Forbes plays well during the summer league and someone picks him up.
snippet from an article the other day in the San Antonio Express News...
One came last season against Massachusetts. Hill had struggled in the first half against Gary Forbes, a future Atlantic-10 Player of the Year and a player at the time rumored to be an NBA prospect.
“If you think you're a pro,” Hunter told Hill in the halftime locker room, “you have to be able to play with this guy.”
To that point, Hill had scored only four points. He finished with 30, leading his team to victory in the second half.
that game was brutal, but in retrospect not that bad...

Houston and its GM Daryl Morey are renowned for taking a Moneyball-like stats based approach on a lot of their scouting. They also had unheralded players like Carl Landry play fantastic for them last year. It could be that some of Gary's stats like the 9reb/pg are helping him if he's on their radar. I'd also be interested if anywhere had adjusted +/- stats for college teams, I'm sure they do, and it could help narrow down the argument over whether Gary's .... aggressiveness shooting/driving at times helped or hurt the team overall.

Guyton, former Massachusetts and Virginia swingman Gary Forbes and Fairleigh Dickinson forward Mike Peeples also are expected to try out for the team. Other hopefuls include former Wake Forest forward Vytas Danelius from Lithuania, Winthrop forward Taj McCullough and Drexel center Frank Elegar.
