PUKE ON ucon!!Mike Anthony wrote:..."There will be a couple of changes to the roster mandated by our performance, mandated by our inadequacies, mandated by some kids who probably deserve to get a chance maybe at a different level," Calhoun said....
..."There are some guys on our team who could have very successful careers maybe at a different level," Calhoun said. "They're young and this would be a good time for them to at least think about what their future is, and I'll be very honest with each and every one of them."...
...In A.J. Price and Jerome Dyson, Calhoun feels he has a reliable backcourt in place. Jeff Adrien, while forced to the forefront as an undersized power forward, is steady. But questions remain at key spots surrounding them.
Hasheem Thabeet could provide the first roster shake-up should he declare for the NBA draft.
"I'm encouraged by A.J.'s last two weeks," Calhoun said. "I question Stanley [Robinson], with all that talent, not being able to do more. Jerome Dyson will be a star in this league. ... I still believe that if Hasheem did all the right things and stays in school - maybe two [more] years, I don't know - that he's going to be a force in this league. So we've got some guys to build around."
But still some missing pieces - and, for now, no scholarships to award.
Sophomore Rob Garrison and freshman Ben Eaves, both buried at the end of the bench, are the most likely candidates to transfer. Sophomore Marcus Johnson, his role reduced and his struggles glaring in the second half of the season, could be a candidate, too. And with four guards in the rotation - Price, Dyson, Craig Austrie and Doug Wiggins - it would not be inconceivable to think that Austrie might consider transferring....

Wow, and he says that they have two 'ships now, possibly three, but won't name the other player considering transferring. We'd have 50 pages by now if Ford said one of our players is considering transferring but wouldn't name him. Seems like he's throwing a kid under the bus and putting some pressure on him publicly (I'm assuming UConn followers have a pretty good idea who he could be talking about).
Well, Mike Anthony is 2-2 in naming the transfers. Will he be 3-3

St. John's lost two today too. Roberts probably forced these guys out.
