Lax to remain in the A10

I know there was worry what might happen to Lax with the conference shuffling, but they will remain in the A10 as an Affiliate Member, along with Delaware:

Link to the A10 site in within that Tweet.

Unfortunately, we are getting less competitive even in the A10, especially as more colleges go D1 for lacrosse, and NIL and the transfer portal are becoming bigger factors. Adding Delaware is good to strengthen the conference, but IMO it will remain a one-bid conference for most seasons.

For UMass, a stronger OOC schedule is critical, especially for the above conferences. Next year is forecasted to be strong for the Ivies, but we need to schedule the stronger teams, like Cornell and Princeton. Let's just drop UM-Lowell.

IMO, we are going to see the 'Power 5', less the SEC but adding the Big East, dominate Men's D1 Lax moving forward, especially as 12.6 scholarship limits become less relevant with NIL grants, even from universities themselves, come into play.

The good news is that the field will become clearer with the COVID timing for the career length behind us.

Lowell isn't going anywhere. We seem to be obliged to play them in every D1 sport for the Kennedy Cup.
