Never too early! Promote the hell out of that Top 15 ranking! It's all about recruiting and fan engagement.

I go to 1 or 2 games a year but I m far from an expert on UM lacrosse. I'd be interested in opinions on this article from people more familiar with the players named than I am.

Re: Way too early but........
The roster has 14 players (many of them are core contributors) who are grad students or seniors. Plus the X and goalie look strong even though they were freshmen last year. With that much experience and talent on the roster, this could be quite a memorable season! Go Gorillas!
Re: Way too early but........
There are 49 Gorillas on the roster. Maybe we can field maroons and whites and have both make the Dance.

Thanks for the link. I think UMASS should be in the top ten. Yale must have a very deep team. They are rated #7 a #8.econalum wrote: ↑Wed Jan 20, 2021 9:24 pm Trainor featured in the review.

Mlax Schedule slowly emerges
CAA has published their schedule, at least partially.
https://caasports.com/calendar.aspx?path=mlax
I presume that the UMass schedule is being held up by Ivy, America East, and Patriot leagues' silence to date, which represent the majority of games most years.

Re: Way too early but........
I have had the original schedule since November, but who knows what will happen. In addition to the 5 CAA games at the end, the other eight - in order - are Army, Lowell, Harvard, Yale, Albany, LIU, Vermont and Brown.
The opening scrimmage is listed for this Saturday @ noon @ Garber vs. Rutgers.
Anyone?

Re: Way too early but........
Good to know on Rutgers. What time?
Ivy league holds a lot of cards as does America East.
My guess is that Holy Cross and BU might be substituted for Ivies, due to close commutes if IVies bailout for '21 - hopefully not.
Perhaps Colgate or Army as well. Patriot League has divided into North and South divisions for '21. All 4 mentioned are in the North Patriot division. 4 hours or fewer roundtrip bus rides are desirable to lessen expenses.
BU and Army would be most desirable for rankings. Colgate meh, HC seems to be in turmoil.

Re: Way too early but........
If the Ivy and America East conferences decide not to play, do you think that the CAA would schedule home and homes for the rest of the league. It would give the teams a chance to play a full schedule. Perhaps some of the games would not be league games?

Re: Way too early but........
It's too bad Liberty doesn't have a men's lax program... could have filled a scheduling slot that way

I'm surprised they don't have a lacrosse team. Their ethics and morals are pretty lax.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 12:08 pm It's too bad Liberty doesn't have a men's lax program... could have filled a scheduling slot that way
