Well, we have won the conference and will host the four team tournament next week, so there is no incentive there. Keeping an eight game winning steak going and improving our national ranking hopefully will be enough.
According to this Hofstra guy on LaxPower, Hofstra has clinched a tourney spot, so the game is as playoff meaningless to them as to us:

Based on the CAA tiebreaker scenarios laid out below, we have basically already clinched a spot in CAA tourney even with a loss Friday since we win all scenarios. Even in case of a potential 5-way tie, the deciding factor is goal-differential and we have huge lead on other teams since both losses were by one goal and our wins were by six and 8 goals. It would still be nice to win though so we avoid top-seed UMass in semis.

Impressive finish -- 9 straight wins. Now let's keep it going through the conference tournament and then see what happens in the NCAAs.

Nut that I am, I put on the waterproof golf gear and headed for Garber. More people there than I would have guessed. The rain didn't interfere with the game, and eased up quite a bit in the second half.
I've said often that I really don't know the nuances of the game, but after the first several minutes, the Hofstra team seemed very confused, especially on their substitution patterns and coverages.
A special moment near the end when Chris Connolly succeeded in finding senior Luc Valenza for his first goal of the season.

Nice report. Was on campus today, but needed to leave before the game. Conditions were rough mid-pm.

On another note, 14 goals against Hofstra is impressive. They came into this game with one of the top defenses in the country.
