UMass Men's Lacrosse‏ @UMassMLacrosse 2 minutes ago
UMASS WINS!!! UM 12, UH 10.
Tyler Bogart had a team-high 4 pts (3G, 1A). Noah Rak won 18-of-24 faceoffs with 10 GBs #UniteTheMasses

The Gorillas were behind 2-5 and 4-7, and then turned it on. Rak was outstanding. The Hartford video, at least for me, not so much.

Glad thy won, but it's unreal how far this program has fallen. Yes, the Yale win was nice, but who 5 years ago could imagine us struggling to beat UMass-Lowell and Hartford? Canella isn't getting the talent anymore.

Could be that he does not have that many scholarships to give out. Then with more teams playing lacrosse there is less talent to go around.

Not sure what Canella's contract ends but I could see Bamford getting a new coach here as well. BTW I like Canella personally but the program has really fallen on hard time and probably needs a blast of fresh energy and perspective.

They need more scholarships and probably have only a few like baseball because of TITLE NINE.

The last I saw, lacrosse was at the NCAA limit for men's scholarships - which is surprisingly low. Did they have their scholarships cut? My understanding was that baseball, track/XC and men's swimming/diving were the only sports under the NCAA limit, but these are old data.

As far as I know, lacrosse still has its full allotment of scholarships.
