Personally I think Mike is a good coach doing to the right things to get the program moving forward towards winning. The players have talent, they just need to start gelling and trusting their games.

All in all a pretty good effort. BC is probably the 2nd best team they played this year (I think Harvard is #1). They are 6-0 at home and were averaging over 75 points a game before today. Their future is brighter than I thought.

They certainly have bought into what Mike and staff are teaching. The game was tied early in the fourth, but then our shooting went off the rails.

Although losing I was very impressed with the women. Yahmano McHayle is a very impressive freshman and Olymids and Palmeiri impressive transfers. No question, in my mind, women will win more games than men.

^ 18-4 final period. Is our D that good, or did the Lady River Rats (is that a thing?) head for Xmas break a tad early?

Defense was strong for most of the game. Lowell had a 18% 3 point shooter that hit 3 in a row (4 overall)that kept them in the game.
UMass Amherst very good foul shooting team 75% which is 11% highe than the men.

Good test for the Minutewomen tomorrow at Mullins against Fordham. UMass lost at Siena by 4, and Fordham at home walloped Siena by 39.

^ That game was an anomaly. They have been up and down this year, as have we, but their schedule has been more challenging. Their average score is 62-58. I haven't seen them play, but they have 2 players who dominate their stat sheet.

They aren't a big team, with nobody in their top 8 over 6 feet tall and 2 starters around 5'8. But they outrebound their opponents by 6 per game.

Donaldson shoots 34% from 3 and nobody else is even at 25%. My guess is that they play tenacious defense, but again, that's a guess. Not sure what to expect, but I think we have a chance to grab a win in our first conference game.
