UMass did what they’re supposed to do against a team that’s 1-10 on the conference.

I’m pleased.

Looking forward to Saturday afternoon’s game!

Another good win - albeit against one of worst teams in the conference. McKayle may get freshman of the year in the conference. Very well coached team!

Great win, despite a slight scare in the third quarter. Definitely looking forward to Saturday's game!

Another big run: Went from tie game in third to 38-13 run to end it.

Ten played and nine scored. Quite different from the Verdi days.

The next 2 are home to Davidson and away at Duquesne. Both are better than the last 4 teams we played and beat. Not necessarily better than us, but pretty close to us.

Just looked at the Duq. stats. Very interesting item is that their 5'7 PG, McConnell, leads the team in scoring (18.6), rebounds (7.1), assists (5.1) and steals (4.1). That is an impressive freakin' resume. She shoots 35% from 3 and takes about 6 per game. Gotta put your best defender on her.

Solid win! They continue to play generally well, nice steady progress here.

Someone won the halftime contest for 10k. There seems to be some confusion about whether he will actually get the grand prize, though. Hopefully he didn't step over the line.

Currently sitting all alone in 4th place at 8-4. Way to take care of business and beat down an inferior team. I saw that Destiney Philoxy was at the game, what a legend. Sam Breen was the best player on those teams, but Philoxey was my favorite to watch, I love her game.

Next 2 are home to Davidson, a mediocre team and @ Duquesne, a pretty good team. A split leaves us at 9-5, pretty darn good.

Then we play GMU, possibly the best team in the league, but the last 3 are all winnable:
Loyola
URI at home after we lost a tough one to them on the road
GW

Nothong is guaranteed, but the team is playing well and has a shot at finishing 11-7 or even 12-6. What a great comeback year for the team.

The 2nd worst thing about this (2nd to the kid missing out on $10k) is that while this really isn't a UMass issue (it is the sponsor/insurance company), UMass will be the face of any national publicity related to this.

Looks like Bamford is trying to rectify the situation. Stepping up and doing the right thing, PR wise.

I think today's game will be a heavy lift. We have a similar record as Davidson's, but they've played a tougher schedule. We'll have to be at our bet to beat them. Hopefully there's some good fan support to help with the home court advantage.

Slow start and trail 18 - 11 after 1 period.

Not shooting well and trail 33 - 20 at the half.

Much as I feared. 33-20 Davidson leads at the half. Not our best shooting day. Credit Davidson who are a talented team. It'll take a lot to come back in this one.
