Loose 89 - 87. Now we just have to keep the coach.

I give Harvard credit for hitting their shots but our defense stunk. The Harvard coach came up with an unusual strategy. They took it right at Sam a number of times in the 2nd half. Either Sam forgot how to play defense or she didn't want to chance picking up a bunch of fouls but the stratefy worked for Harvard. They got a number of easy buckets.
Lot's of other things to say but not many of them are good. Congrats to the team for a couple of very special years.

Is verdi as good of a coach as we think ? I am not saying that he is a bad coach, but i don't think he is top tier coach. He had a stacked team this year that couldn't win the big games and though they had a good record it was in a very week conference ( a conference that could just get one team into the NCAA tournament ( through an automatic bid, and not because they were a top 65 team and one that got blown out in the first round) .
This team with its talent and experience should have gone further into the NIT. He was completely out coached by the Harvard coach today.
Verdi has not proven that he belongs coaching in a higher division. He belongs coaching in a sub level conference like ours and the true test will be how good he and our team is next year when we lose all our seniors. He built this team, so lets see what he does next year with the talent he recruited.

Fatty's behind-the-back pass to Destiney for a layup made ESPN's Top 10 this morning.

I wonder if something has been a bit off the last few games. She got her double-double but, as you said, her lack of movement on D was something we didn't see earlier in the year.69MG wrote: ↑Mon Mar 20, 2023 11:06 pm I give Harvard credit for hitting their shots but our defense stunk. Do you think more are leaving than Sam and Destiney?

Outcoached, same as the SLU game.

Harvard took out URI in the next round, 74-63, and will now play at Columbia in the WNIT quarterfinals. The fourth time those two teams have played this season.
