Tough one last night... that 3pt flurry from SLU in the 3rd, in addition to their fairly dominate rebounding sunk us.

I thought the offense looked mostly disjointed in the 2nd half, and I'm not sure why. And each time they seemed to get their groove back, SLU would hit a big shot. Just a tough one, especially on a night where they had a chance to take a full step ahead of URI.

With that said, sometimes a loss like this at this point is a good reset, and a springboard forward. Only one way into the NCAA Tournament now.....

Here is my summation of last nite's debacle: The 3Q was the killer and we played carelessly while they went off on a 3pt binge. With a short bench as Coach Verdi prefers, your top scorers can't have off nights and that happens alot when Syd is NOT on her game! (check the stats on her when we lose).
Mayo is great talent, but she sometimes tries to do it all and that hurts! She was 6/16 with 4 crucial TO's! Maybe the loss will be benefit us in the tournament and we'll play with a passion and a purpose!

Just saw Fordham’s buzzer beating 3 to beat URI. Wow, what a shot!

Well said. We seem to lose our cool down the stretch, especially the guards, and tried to do much too much driving into the trees. Also, Tory's D all year does not allow for guarding the corner three. I don't get that. It is by far the easiest three to make.

Thanks for the full tiebreaker review link. But the simple version is that if we stay even with URI by beating GW Saturday, GW is out of picture. Fordham and SLU should both win their Sat matchups. If that happens then SLU finishes third and URI wins conference because of their better record vs SLU.

^ They don't win the conference. The 2 teams are declared "Co-champions", but URI would get top seed.

Correct, like the Boys were Co-Champs with Xavier in 2007.
