Quick lunchtime Google Search
Womens College Basketball Award
(I make no claim as to the completeness of this list)

Naismith Player of the Year
WBCA Player of the Year
AP Womens’ Colege Basketball Player of the Year
The above are the awards that are banner worthy.

Not banner worthy
The Wade Trophy (WBC)
Lisa Leslie Center of the Year
Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year
Ann Meyers Drysdale (Shooting Guard) Award
Nancy Lieberman Award (Point Guard)
John R Wooden (WBB) Award
WBCA Defensive Player of the Year

The award that SB received did appear in my search.
Not having a banner does not diminish the honor, but this award does not rise to the level of a banner, as does CM’s and MC’s.
For women's basketball that we have a player getting involved in a national award and winning this award is a huge deal. It is like the IAA heisman. She needs a banner, marcus def needs a banner.
Of course, it was a different honor, but there were discussions on this board of putting a banner for national 3-point champion Cerie Mosgrove

The award that SB won is not available to players in the following conferences; ACC, Big12, Big East, Big 10, PAC-12, SEC.
Wouldn’t the best way to improve the program be to aspire to not be considered Mid-Major?
Do you believe everything you hear on TV? Since we do not need to rehash points here you would know the reason UMass is in a piss poor conference situation is because of our embarrassingly bad football program

well we have only one person to blame for the football program, and he is still employed by our school...that is Mr Bamford himself. Why do you think he has not moved on from Umass ? No other schools would hire him, except maybe schools like Bryant and Stonehill. We need to get rid of him, our Mens football and basketball teams are a joke, the two most important sports . How does this guy still has a job puzzles me ( yes I know the hockey program), but I am sorry that does no offset the long time failure in our football team and basketball team ( and the future is not bright for both these teams).

Good listen. Recorded this past Friday

A WNBA mock draft I saw doesn't have Sam's name on it, but sounds like she's planning to take an overseas opportunity.

There are 36 picks in the WNBA draft. This site has Sam ranked as the 44th best player.

She was not. The mock drafts proved right in regards to her.

Sam has signed with a pro club in Finland

Vimpelin Veto

League: Korisliiga (apparently translates to Basketball League in Finnish)

Looks like most of the best players in the league are American.

Former Minutewoman Rashida Timbilla is in that league.

Anyone have any idea what the payscale is for overseas women's hoop? It's a great experience for Sam, wish her the best!

Sam has 29, 8 boards, 9 dimes and 6 steals to lead her team Vimpelin Veto to an opening 94-93 overtime win.

Or at least I think so. Need to brush up on my Finnish. :)

If you haven't listened to this interview, it's worth your time. She is an amazing person.
