Congratulations to Tony and the players! Whether or not they win tomorrow, this season is an immense success.
What fun to watch. Sam and Destiny score 56 and shoot 67%.

The ladies have been a pleasure to watch this year. If they don't win tomorrow have they played enough games and won enough to go to a post season tournament?

Re: 2020-21 season
I believe the WNIT is all at-large this year. We have played enough games I believe. The losing streak before the COVID pause really cost us a chance at an at-large NCAAW bid.

Today's game was just an absolute pleasure to watch. Here's hoping for more good times tomorrow!

why did the two players leave? This is a disturbing trend.

Re: 2020-21 season
Tory usually plays a short rotation. I think that a lot of the players that left thought they were better than they actually were. I.E. they thought they should have a place in the starting rotation and were not happy with their role. Whatever happened this year, it did not look good for them to leave before the tourney. Should have been like last year when Hampton-Bey and McCormick left on good terms with good social media posts.
Donnelly and Oliver were not playing at the caliber needed. I thought Maeve was a project that was solidly getting better but it did not work out.
I think the whole trend of the team is up for next year. I don't think Sims was that good of a player and we basically are bringing back 90%+ of our scoring. Would not be surprised to see them win a game in the NCAAW national tournament soon.

Sounds like Breen will be back next season!!

Re: 2020-21 season
All seven say they will be back. Four more recruits coming. A post in the other thread leaves the door open on Oliver and Donnelly. The extra year allows Sims (possibly still in concussion protocol, but who knows) back if she wants. And then there is Lowery. The only name removed from the roster is Sanderlin.
Ex-Sanderlin, that makes 15. I don't believe that there are 15 seats on the bus, although I watched the Gorillas' game yesterday, and on that roster we have a cast of thousands.

Donnelly is transferring. I'm sorry it didn't work out for her after a very promising freshman campaign.

I would like to thank UMass for all of the amazing opportunities and experiences I had during my time there. However, I have decided that it is in my best interest to finish my career elsewhere, so I will be entering the transfer portal with 3 years of remaining eligibility.
