I hope they do a better job on Jorgensen. She went for 21 and 17 in the first game and dominated Donnelly.

Played sloppy near the end of the half going over 3 min without scoring but still lead 27 - 24.

I'll help Berky out. We are playing better since the half.

With the 26 points Hailey is up to 1817 for her career at UMass putting her in second place for the all time leader. Needs 41 more to tie Sue Peters and 42 to become the all time leader. They have a home game on Tuesday against a lower seed and should win that game moving them onto the next round of playoffs in Dayton. That should give her an outside chance of passing Sue Peters for the all time lead. Sue Peters did that in the 70's. The win today made it 19 wins which is more than any from quite a while ago. Program is on the way up.

FYI , Sue Peters was class of ‘80. 38-2 on the hill for softball and a .390 batting average for softball. Not surprisingly, a UM HOF. A friend from Worcester, referred to Ronnie Perry ( the younger) HC’80, as the closet thing to Sue Peters he had seen!
Old reference that will be lost on the majority of the audience....but enjoyable from the era!

^ Some of us can discuss Ronnie Perry the Elder. :)

I went to this game. There more folks there than I would have guessed, maybe 1,000, and this team really turned it on in the second half. Excellent shooting and solid D. Rhody had a big that scored about half their points while it was still in range, but we had several contributing and Hailey and Sam are quite 1-2 punch.

Based on the A10 WBB website, we should play St. Bonaventure home on Tuesday night. So glad about that. Of the 3 teams that we could face, that is probably our easiest matchup. I would not want to face Mason again after our 2 (3?) OT thriller last year and getting torn apart there earlier this year.

You have to be happy for the team and seniors Vashnie Perry and Hailey Leidel (does anyone have a bigger and happier smile than she does?!). Congrats to the Minutewomen for a great year and best of luck in the A-10 tourney! Also kudos to Coach Verdi. He has really done a great job with the team and I think he has found a home in Amherst!!!

To get to the NCAA W tournament, UMass would have to beat St. Bonaventure and then likely Saint Louis to follow to play Dayton and then the other side of the bracket. I think with a win in Amherst and then at least one in Dayton, we are in the convo for a post-season birth. Making it to Sunday I think could get us to the WNIT and winning on Sunday would of course be the first NCAAW berth since 1998.

l agree with above...a post season tourney would be a great achievement for this squad.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
