Was just going to post the update... charging foul on St. Louis so UMass has the ball now. 9:30 to go....
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

It's ovah. Per Walfish and others, there is an outside chance of a WNIT bid.

Lost 65 - 52. Had a 4 min streach in the 4th Q where they did not score a point.

Re: 2019-2020 Season
We finished 5th in conference. Last year, 2nd and 3rd went to WNIT. I don't think we would get an invite without winning two in Dayton. I think we could get an invite to WBI -- WNIT would be amazing though.
Re: 2019-2020 Season
would love to see this squad get an invite to any post A10 tourney.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
Re: 2019-2020 Season
I would not expect an invite to the NIT, not when your team has a strength of Schedule of 225 in the country. Coach needed to pad the schedule so that he didn't get fired.

Re: 2019-2020 Season
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see a WNIT either. SOS was an issue, but the big thing is that we were also 5th in the A10. I think Dayton might have been at-large, but with them winning the conference, A10 is a one-bid conference this year. We would be like the 4th A10 team in the WNIT which I think is hard to see. I still think WBI looks like the most appropriate landing spot and hope we would accept if offered.
Also, Verdi has been extended until 2023-24, so I don't think this "soft" schedule has anything to do with him trying to keep his job. If anything, we played OOC against two big east teams that I think we will have again next year at the opposite site. I don't see any major reason to be down on this program and even with Hailey and Vash graduating see the program on an upward trajectory.

Re: 2019-2020 Season
There is another tournament for teams that don't make it to the WNIT.

Next years additions should far outweigh what we're losing this year imo!

Re: 2019-2020 Season
Totally understand the need to cancel tournaments but UMass season is now over. Hailey will finish her career at #2 on the all-time scoring list here at UMass. Best of luck to them as I believe they will go to Europe and play professionally.
