Re: 2018-2019 Season
The energy the team came out with was lacking. Down 12-0 to start. Hard to dig out of that hole 2-3 minutes in.
Leidel came off the bench for the first time this year, but it seems that was a wakeup call. She and Philoxy got early 20 and 30 points respectively. So, these two players off the bench got 46-50 points.
Last one at home is this Wednesday.

Opening it up and now leading 45 - 31. Best I have seen them look in a while.
Re: 2018-2019 Season
Break the losing skid with a dominating second half performance and a big win over Richmond!

Re: 2018-2019 Season
A good solid win. Loved that Lauraine and Kenz got in at the end and each got some points. The only complaint that I have is that Verdi didn't call out Jess George or Genesis Rivera for a standing ovation at the end of the game but rather subbed them at a timeout.
Last time out against Richmond, we turned it over over 20 times. Today, we still turned it over more than them I believe, but we outrebounded and outhustled.
Let's get a win at Rhode Island and then see who we play in the A10 tourney. It is now impossible for us to play at home.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
Regular season finale today.
IF UMass WINS AND George Washington AND St. Joe's LOSE, I think we have a home playoff game. Looks like the "tie-breaker" on the A-10 website is with overall record of which we would be ahead of both of the others. I'd expect Fordham to beat St. Joe's. The GW/Richmond game will be interesting. It will be AT Richmond at 11 AM. Should be over before the start of the UMass game.
A win also puts us at .500 for the season.

That would be very exciting and a good mark of progress for the program.kikoandjimmer wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 9:26 am Regular season finale today.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
I think I was wrong about tiebreaker as i think its head to head. We lost against both, so we probably finish 10th in conference but still have a chance to go .500.
Re: 2018-2019 Season
a .500 season would be nice, and they should get it playing a woeful Rhody team. That said, I was expecting more improvement this year. Going from 14-16 to 15-15 and 6-10 to 7-9 in conference in year three isn't great. Verdi and this team need to deliver next year.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
I think my expectations for WBB at the moment are a bit like my expectations for football. I'd love for them to be out there dominating, and that expectation should certainly be the expectations of the coach. But when you haven't had a .500 season in 12 years....78 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 02, 2019 1:19 pm a .500 season would be nice, and they should get it playing a woeful Rhody team. If I were actually evaluating improvement I might look current year performance vs the 4-year moving average, something like that. As long we're regularly at 0.500 (or top half of RPI, etc.) and showing steady improvement, that's good with me. All about continuous improvement.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
previous comment about RPI is a good one. This years schedule was padded by coach Verdi with some awfully weak and lower level opponents so I would not go by record !!
