2017 Recruiting Class
Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
^ Now twelve on the online roster and twelve went bowling tonight.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
Based on the roster, looks like this is the player not here. Too bad, as it looks like she really could have helped. UMass People Finder shows her as enrolled, but guess that really doesn't mean anything. Maybe not such a big deal though. Looked at her stats from last year and she played less than 4 minutes a game and averaged 1.5 points.

It's possible she's just not on campus yet. Not likely, but could be that she isn't starting until the Fall for some reason.

Swing shift, or is that long gone?
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Yeah, but she was initially on the roster and has been removed.InnervisionsUMASS wrote:It's possible she's just not on campus yet. Not likely, but could be that she isn't starting until the Fall for some reason.

^ As I read your first post about her situation, I wondered if it could have something to do with the transfer-ability of credits from Trinity Valley CC to UMass?

My apologies, I missed that part.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
Does anyone know why Aerial Starks is no longer on the roster?
Pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
Regarding Starks, checked her twitter account, and as of yesterday her tweets were still being posted from Northampton. I like this new coach, but it seems a lot of players have disappeared from the roster in his short time here. If I recall correctly, Starks was a fairly highly rated recruit out of Texas. There are now 11 players on the roster, and one of those is already out for the season. I don’t get it.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
It doesn’t help that there’s scant media coverage of the program. Matty V can’t do everything. That’s why everything is a mystery about the comings and goings of players.78 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2017 10:07 pm Regarding Starks, checked her twitter account, and as of yesterday her tweets were still being posted from Northampton. Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
We actually found out the reason for Starks not playing. According to a Facebook post she made last month, she left the program on her own. Basically said she had too much going on in her personal life and basketball wasn't fun anymore. I recall her father died about a year ago and it has been extremely difficult for her since then,

This was posted yesterday on an Aerial Starks Facebook page (which seems to be legitimate): "It’s been a full year since I lost my best friend. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you. I’ve often reflected on what your passing means in my life and I’ve realized that life is too short, and that you need to enjoy every moment. That’s why I’ve decided not to play Basketball anymore at UMass. I have legal obligations and am currently looking for my half brother overseas and I felt like basketball was another stressor in my life, not an outlet. I hope I haven’t disappointed anyone but I had to start making decisions that were best for ME and no one else."
