Sad news from Tennessee. Rest in Peace and Glory Ms. Summitt. You transformed women"s basketball and your legend lives on. Thoughts and prayers to the Summitt family, friends, and all of VolNation.

Some 14 years ago, my daughter's 7th-grade AAU team was fortunate enough to make it to the National Finals at Disney. During early practices it felt in many ways like just another tournament. Until Pat Summitt strolled into the arena. A hush fell over the place, the whole mood changed, and the girls realized that this was big time.

RIP Pat Summit. My grandmother, my Aunt and a good family friend all knew Pat Summit. My family friend knew her very well, and Pat actually came up to visit her in Maine once (my family friend has a summer cottage next to my grandmother's). No doubt she's a legend.
