The roster has been updated, but there are no assistant coaches listed so stay tuned. I'm not close enough to the program to know Yolanda's value, but I hope they keep her and I have no explanation as to why I feel that way other than name recognition.

FYI Candice Walker WAS the Director of Operations.............so she would be promoted to something else!

I'm sure there will be an official announcement soon.

It seems a bit odd to me that nothing has been announced yet regarding assistant coaches. I think Tony said on 5/4 that his staff had been completed.

Maybe he jumped the gun and there are some contract issues?

Maybe the school just hasn't announced it yet? It could just be that. It was just graduation, the campus has been swamped, there are other teams competing in the A10s right now, athletic department is busy...it's likely nothing.

I wonder why Yolanda Griffth wasn't retained. She seemed to be someone we could have used on staff. Anyone have any insight?

There were no conspiracy theories, just curiosity why it took so long between when he tweeted and today. Ironing out final aspects of contracts seems like a reasonable reason and is far from a conspiracy theory.

Pure guesses

1. Rsox conspiracy theory (think you were trying to say something cute but no one cares about umass womens basketball for conspiracy theories to exist)

2. Yo was loyal to the old coach

3. Yo and new coach have different styles of playing/coaching

4. New coach wanted a recruiter with more experience

5. Yo wants to be somewhere that has more than 300 people show up to its games

6. Yo was upset she did not get the head job (who knows if she was interviewed)

My guess is the truth lies somewhere between 2,3 and 4. Its def not 1 or 5.

Discuss away!!!

Because head coaches like to bring in their own staffs. People they have worked with in the past and trust. Simple as that.

Candace Walker was Director of Ops. under Sharon and he promoted her to Asst. Coach. So he must have seen something in Candace that he didn't see in Yo.
