From an article about the Holy Cross game. It's called "coaching".
Verdi recognized early that his team was struggling to defend the Crusaders in man to man and switched to a zone defense late in the second quarter. Holy Cross was 9-of-17 in the first quarter and dropped to a whopping 4-of-14 once it was hit with the zone. Simple, yet smart game time adjustments are necessary anytime but in close games like Friday’s, recognizing what works and what doesn’t make the difference.

If I remember correctly, the WBB coaching search was conducted by an associate AD and not RB. She is no longer with UMASS.

Did anyone know that Tory was this ill? Also, were the women's games postponed because we were on Covid protocol? I saw that on a tweet earlier today.

Excited to get bk to work today! I have been out since 12/28 when I tested + for Covid. I have never been so sick and scared b4. A big thank U to my players who called, texted and delivered so much Red heart! You helped me get through a very difficult time.

Good stuff. Glad to see the women's program in such good hands after how bad it was for so long.

Love to see that level of emotion and commitment from the person (allegedly) leading the men’s team!

^ Great!
Now maybe he can start coaching like he is building a program and not just winning the game😁

Coach has built a very good program here, bringing in talented players and getting them to buy in to his philosophy. Hopefully UMass continues to invest in promoting and further developing the WBB program. Everything done to date has brought this program to where it is, now let’s bring it to the next level.
