2024-25 Season
Re: 2024-25 Season
If they can split the last 4, they would end up at 11-7 in conference and 16-13 overall. That would be a remarkable feat for Mike and the team. In case anyone has forgotten, we were 2-16 in the A10 regular season and 4-26 overall.
The 2 "easier" games are home to Loyola (3-11) and @ GW (4-9). The other 2 are home to GMU (12-2 and 22-3 overall) and home to URI (8-5). I don't expect us to beat GMU as they are very good. We do have a shot at home to URI who squeaked out a win against us at their place.
I have not posted anything about the men's game. I was there to witness it, and as my mother told me, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything".

Fantastic win and great bounceback... this is turning into a very solid season with a chance to make some noise in the A10.

Re: 2024-25 Season
I'm really looking forward to the URI game. I think they can beat them if they play like they did last night. Being at home should help. GW has been playing a little better of late, but I feel we can also beat them on the road. I think they'll take care of business against Lyola. I'd love to see 11 wins, and possibly 12. Whatever happens, I totally agree this has been an incredible year of improvement for the team, and it's certainly been a lot more exciting to watch.69MG wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 12:49 am If they can split the last 4, they would end up at 11-7 in conference and 16-13 overall. 22 rebounds is tied for 4th in most rebounds in a game in UM Women's BB. We forget how good Jennnifer Butler was.
Most Rebounds
1. 30 Jennifer Butler at Florida 12/28/02
2. 25 Jennifer Butler vs. William & Mary 12/29/99
3. 23 Jennifer Butler La Salle 3/6/03
4. 22 Maggie Mulligan at Duquesne 12/31/17
22 Jennifer Butler Fordham 1/28/01
6. 21 Jennifer Butler Temple 1/6/03
21 Jennifer Butler at Duquesne 1/17/02

Facts.
I looked her up again. She averaged a double-double in her UM career, and was the A-10 DPOY in 2002-03.

She got drafted into the WNBA but I don't think she ended up sticking and playing with a team.

^ I think she blew out her knee or had some other major injury. I'm not 100% sure on this.

No disrespect to JB & MM, but they were both 6’3” inside players and SK is a 6’0” perimeter player.69MG wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 11:59 am22 rebounds is tied for 4th in most rebounds in a game in UM Women's BB. We forget how good Jennnifer Butler was.

We lead after 1 period 18 - 17. Going to be a tough game as Mason is 22 - 2 .

Loose 76 - 66.
Re: 2024-25 Season
A good effort against one of the top 3 teams in the league. Also, a team that has only lost 1 game at home all year. It seems like 2 things did us in. We got outrebounded by 13 and they shot 18 more free throws than we did (although some were end of game situational fouls).
Re: 2024-25 Season
Agree 69. In the game against one of the top teams in A10 at their court. I think rebounding had been one of our issues this year. A far cry from 4-26 of last yeat
