My wife and I went to today's game. I'm not going to throw anyone in particular under the bus, but there are a few players who do not look like A10 level players.

I'll concentrate on the 3 players who gave us the win.

Palmieri has been our best scorer this year and she had 16 today. She was only 6/15 from the floor but hit some big 3s to keep us in the game.
An odd stat today is that she was 4/7 from 3 and 2/8 from 2.

Olbrys was our best low post player by far. She fought for rebounds and I think all 6 of her baskets were in the paint.

The star of the show was mckayle. She reminded me a little of Destiney. She's listed at 5'6 but she's thin and not strong like Destiney was, but she's quick and aggressive. She hit some 3's, took it to the hole a few times and made some pull up shots. 21 points, 7 assists, 2 turnovers and 4 steals. This was a breakout game for her, and she will be fun to watch if she stays the course.

Minutewomen up 15 at the half, 32-17.
The front court combination of Jess Ross, Megan Olbrys and Stef Kulesza seemed to really click. Yahmani McKayle is a pleasure to watch.

Up 48 - 41.

Missed the first half as we were at our daughter' s house. She had Lasik eye surgery this morning and needed more eye drops. Also needed help giving her male cat heart medicine. Doing much better tonight.

Well, the third period was an advanced course in sleepwalking for our ladies, letting Monmouth cut the 15 point lead to as close as six.

Then, a total turn. Don't know what Mike injected them with, but they won by 23 going away.

We lose 70-75. Holy Cross hit five three point shots in the 4th and our shooting went totally cold, plus tons of turnovers. Brutal.

I was at the basketball game with my wife. They played hard and didn't quit. Team defense was good, and they pulled within two near the end, but just couldn't get their last few shots to land. Allie Palmieri finished with 21 points and Lilly Ferguson had 13 rebounds. A few less turnovers and a couple more shots made, and we win this one, but they have yet to really turn the corner on being able to pull out these close, hard-fought games.

There was a meet and great for season ticket holders after the game and we enjoyed meeting and talking with many of the players and coaches - a really wonderful group of people.

It was a back and forth game.UMass needs to learn how to close games out.

I think it would help if they scored more than 53 points.

I don't think this is going to get better this season, nor do I have hope it will improve beyond that.
