2023-24 Season
Re: 2023-24 Season
^ As with the men's show, it was taped before the foreign trip. I'm sure the coaches learned a lot more about the newcomers on the trip and maybe the next show will give us a better preview.
Re: 2023-24 Season
Wonder if the interest and momentum the women's program gained the last couple years will continue on this season with all the turnover. Was pretty surprised how the team broke up seeing they had a ton of returning talent. They were fun to watch

Re: 2023-24 Season
Today, men's basketball preseason rankings announced. Am very interested to see tomorrow's release of the women's, usually it is one day later.
I don't have much to go on honestly except some of the clips they have been showing. I think a good season for Leflar to start would be a .500 conference record and maybe a single bye in the A10 tournament.

Considering what they lost, I think your expectations are a bit high. I very much hope to be proven wrong.

^ A real guessing game as to what to expect from this year's team.
I did hear from a good source that Chinenye Odenigbo (6'5) is a much better player than Gabriel. I thought Gabriel would be really good, coming from UConn WBB and having a brother in the NBA. She looked lost out there. I haven't heard much else so my expectations are fairly low.

Re: 2023-24 Season
Just to clarify, I said what I thought a good season would be, not what I expect. Kulesza is a very solid player and I've liked what I have seen from Williams in terms of fewer turnovers. Lily is a wildcard as she had almost no minutes last year. Excited for Dallas Pierce and I guess I am excited to see how it all comes together. I'm glad that Mike has a better foundation to start with than Tory (5 basketball players + Megan Burke) -- Leflar's strength when they brought him from Northeastern was defense, so I hope this continues.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2023 3:12 pm Considering what they lost, I think your expectations are a bit high. Fair enough. I think what you stated would be a GREAT season for him to start, but that's just me.

Women's Media day is tomorrow, October 26th.
Should be interesting to see where other coaches think we stack up against the conference. Also interested to see if Kulesza or anyone can get preseason honors.

Picked 11th shows just how much we lost so Coach Leflar's got his cut out for him with this rebuild!

Also, no preseason conference selections.
Re: 2023-24 Season
Low expectations are recommended, just want to see improvement as the year progresses which would be a drastic change from the men's teams who seem to digress during the season!

We won 88 -80.
Re: 2023-24 Season
Assumption is DII, but they were 27-6 last year and made it to the Elite 8 of the DII NCAA Tournament. They also returned their top 6 scorers, so I'm saying this was an OK win.
