Not a UMass reference, but one of our own is getting some attention for a tweet!

^ I believe that somewhere in the 800+ posts in this thread, there is the story of Fox doing a similar interview with Carmelo, not knowing who he was, and butchering his name.

Edit: Found it: It was Channel 7:

I happened to see this last night. The discussion was about the closing of 128 this weekend to demolish a bridge.

Love Zo supporting us. Did Beetle badger him into wearing it?

Originally posted in the General Discussion thread and then removed and put here for the UMass reference:

The New Yorker put out an issue devoted to the US Coronavirus response. Heavily featured is deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger, who majored in Mandarin and Japanese at UMass. Also a little Tom Brady nod from Gov Inslee, and a look at the tragic debacle at the Soldiers Home in Holyoke.

The Winter 20-21 edition of "Mass Golfer" magazine - which arrived today - features a thank you to all the supers who kept courses in great shape during the record rounds played year we just experienced with Covid. Four that have a UMass and/or Stockbridge connection are featured. Class years are not mentioned, but here are the four and where they are now:

1. Shaun Mitchell - Whitinsville Golf Club (which Golf magazine just voted the second best stand alone nine hole course on the planet)
2. Colin Smethhurst - Hillview Golf Course (North Reading)
3. Chuck Welch - Black Rock Country Club (Hingham)
4. Jackie Boudreau - also Black Rock and married to Welch

Mitchell is the only one with a specific degree mentioned - plant soil science. Anyone here know one of these folks back when?

Not sure if this was mentioned elsewhere. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had on his post-Super Bowl show player introductions if they were by famous Hollywood directors. Victor Cruz was featured. It's pretty darn good.
