I made no comment on whether you wore a mask or whether you thought that should continue or not. I said maybe where you live. You mentioned something about reading comprehension? Its interesting that cases in states with major lockdowns like NY and Cali are skyrocketing and cases in States with less like FL and Texas are also Skyrocketing. I don't get places like Michigan... No indoor dining but you can go to a movie, an escape room, and you r kid can have a flag football game. In Mass they went to 25% in restaurants with no data to back up the decision. I get why you close a bar or anywhere people would gather in close proximity but I feel like restaurants have been targeted because it allows leaders to say "they are doing something". Luckily where I live people follow the rules. Every once in a while there an anti-masker.. they don't care if you say "no shirt, no shoes, no service" but if you add a mask to that.. watch out!! As a guy who had 6 rounds of the Anthrax vaccine I'm not really worried about this one.

You living in some fantasy world? I was being generous with the 90% number. There is 100% compliance in all six New England states with people indoors wearing masks since the pandemic happened. Any store, restaurant for take out, etc. I travel all around the area for work. So yes let's open everything back up and still continue to wear masks. Not that hard to understand pal.

Anyone in MA in the 75+ group try to use the state website to set of a vaccine appointment for February?

In response to the question about vaccine for 75+, my wife and I are scheduled for today in the Eastfield Mall. This is one of the few sites in MA allowing 75+ to be jabbed now. I think the appts are all booked, but I'm not sure. Go to the Hadley Senior Center website for the link to the Eastfield Mall site. Good luck. I really miss sitting behind the North basket and watching home games.... every home game since the Mullins opened. Maybe next year.

Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout here in MA has been a bit of a mess, but that's no surprise. If there's one thing the MA government isn't good at it, it's IT. Hopefully the process gets smoother with the telephone option and, of course, more doses arriving.

We had very little trouble signing up for next weekend at Ferncroft in Topsfield. I can imagine, though, that the site is a nightmare for many seniors, as I am seeing crying and frustration on the Boston tv stations. The worst is a senior in Rochester (Buzzard's Bay area) ending up with an appointment in Agawam. The one step that many have no idea how to do is to upload a photo of the front of their Medicare card onto the site.

I am due for my second Moderna shot on Feb 11 here in Mooresville, NC. Here it is first come first served so I got there early for the 10 AM shots @ 7:15 AM, and waited for 5 hours and 15 min. Hope I don't have to wait that long for the second one but if it is 1st come 1st served I will get there early again.

Our county has done a good job of physically administering the vaccines at the local college's athletics center with transportation from the parking lots and minimal wait times for the scheduled appointments. They've done a lousy job of setting up the appointments with a crap-shoot, short daily window for online registration and absolutely no priority for those of us over 65, despite recommendations for some sort of priority. With the exception of carry-out food, we remain a non-contributor to the local economy.

First shot done easily yesterday at Ferncroft, a quite large site. Well organized, and we were in and out in 75 minutes, including the sign-up for the second round and the post-shot mandatory wait.

I'm posting to say that this is a good spot for anyone here that lives on the North Shore when MA gets to the next stages.

I got my second shot about an hour ago and have not had any side effects so far. Took me about 2 1/2 hours waiting in my car to get it.

Got my first Pfizer shot today (my wife got hers a week ago).

Virginia set up a database to input your information, but I'm not sure if that helped getting on the list. They still use the daily signup around noon each weekday and it may double check to see if you qualify for an acceptable group. Based on the ages of other people I saw getting the shot today, that may be the case. It's nice to have an appointment set up. Our health district includes about seven sites and we both got into the same location, a forty-minute drive away. We will get an email notification for our appointments for the second shot.

A few miles from the vaccine location, it was a sad sight to see the funeral for a local officer shot during a traffic stop. An impressive display of brotherhood on this solemn day. RIP Sir.
