PC Series 11/4 & 11/5

Post by bleedmaroon » Tue Nov 01, 2022 9:00 am

Last weekend goes to form. Low scoring one goal games. Except for a hiccup or two, this series has been similar recently. Should be a real good test.

The Bill; will have CBS Sports and NESN on TV tonight starting at 7:00 pm……doubt that I will be able to get my wife to give up a TV tonight, so the last button on the remote might get a workout 😁

^ She drives over an hour with me to watch teams she has little to no interest in for the last 3 years of football and 2 years of hockey (including Manchester, Buffalo, Boston Garden). We grew up with children playing youth/hs sports year round and we suddenly found ourselves with no games to go to🙁 We stop at Trader Joe’s, LLBean and dinner, but I still think I am getting the best deal. With 3 TV downstairs and warm temps, I still might be able to get 2 TV’s that I can watch and still not be cold (3 season porch with a portable heater). Will probably have to give up living room for kitchen in the deal😁.

Don’t understand why that last goal wasn’t waved off for goalie interference.

^ Agree. Player skated into and hit the keeper as the puck crossed the goal line. Hockey referees?!?! You never know when they are going to call something or when they're going to let it go.

Providence deserved the win tonight. They out skated us and pretty much controlled the game. Impressed with their use of "cycle" to control the puck in our end.

We'll get them tomorrow!

Up 3-1 after 2 and ended up losing 4-3 in OT. Yuck.

Doesn't get any easier next weekend with BU.

Gut wrenching loss tonight in overtime. We played a great 1st and especially 2nd period and led 3 to 1 entering the 3rd. However, PC dominatd play in the 3rd period tying the score. They won in OT. I was impressed with PC's size and speed.

When the team was up 1 goal on Merrimack in the 3rd it looked like they started playing not to loose, going into a defensive style of clearing the puck, dump it in, line change and not trying to sustain any offense.

I didn’t watch last nights game. Did the team take a similar approach after the 10 minute mark in the 3rd?

Some careless, bad decisions with the puck that let to bad turnovers would be my summary at the end.
Not a lot of contributors from the veteran forwards. Two (2) of the goals by defenseman, 1 playing his first game.
