2022-23 Season: Regain the Trophy
*Mike - feel free to change the topic title. Shout out to m626t for the thread name!
Discuss! This team will certainly have a different look.

We (I) need someone who follows hockey more closely than I do to fill us in on the recruits coming in next year. We have a lot of hole to fill and I have no idea of the potential for replacing the players who are moving on.

First, we need to figure out who is coming Back! Josh Lopina??? Also, we need a keeper (2 Freshmen on the roster); defenders - lose Felix, Farmer, and Kessel; and some forwards. This year we counted on Trivigno to carry the scoring load, and he was great! We're going to need some forwards to step up.
I believe in Carvy. If anybody can, he will find some players!

Current list of recruits looks interesting. Again, I am concerned about the goalie's stats. Pav looked decent this year.
The recruiting list has some talent. I think coach is gunning for some scorers. We need that.
I do see a ton of penalty minutes. Do Jrs refs call everything or is coach trying to build in the image of Sinden and Cherry's Bruins of the 70s?

Lopina and Kessel are gone so far.

Saw a tweet that mentioned a change in the hockey coaching staff. Anyone have details?

I'm thinking that the ascension of UMass and UConn hockey have much to do with this. HE was mostly a sub-regional product centered on the Boston schools, with most of the western half of New England not much caring. Now we have a much wider area of interest.mdogt12 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 5:28 pm https://www.instagram.com/p/CcA9KnpLE8D ... =copy_link

Those schools will tell you that you're nuts for saying that, but I fully believe it. There's no need to do this if we were still bottom of the barrel. It does help that the streaming platform thing has become so commonplace as well.

New tender - two years @ ASU:
Cole Brady @Cole_Brady_
I am very thankful for my time at ASU and all the teammates I have made countless memories with. That being said I am very grateful to be continuing my college hockey career at Umass! Thank you to my friends and family for the continued support #newmass @UMassHockey

Save percentage was good. Did well in jrs playoffs. Was 9n bad team last year.
We have some competition, but we need another goalie to join him.

I thought Pavicich played well albeit in limited time. Listening to Carvel at the end of last season it seemed like he thinks Pavicich is ready too. I’m happy the transfer from ASU is on board but I’m not sure why we seem to be forgetting about the goalie who the team already had
