I have seen all of the pre-season polls, but I haven’t seen any in-depth articles about the team. With the entire first line gone and key defensive players having departed, I would be interested in the line projections and defensive pairings for the upcoming season. With Denver coming in for a a pair to start the season, they will need to be on their “A” game right away.

If anyone has anything to share , I’d appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

I know that GC is from the BB-NEP school of sharing information, but hopefully someone has written something 😁

Since nobody feels like commenting on last night, I'll throw my 2 cents in. We were missing a few pieces (Faith, Ellis, Bohlinger ) and Carvel played a bunch of freshmen and transfers. We looked disjointed and as you might expect, we looked like we hadn't played together before.

Missed assignments, two guys in the same spot crashing into each other, passes that were off the mark and poor communication. That's the bad news, but these things are fixable. They may not be by the time Denver gets here and those games might get ugly.

The good news is that we do have good players and I think they'll be OK after a few games.

As far as the goalkeeper situation goes, I thought the transfer from Arizona State (Brady) looked good. Each of the 3 goalies played a period and he looked the best. Pavicich probably should have stopped 1 of the 2 he let in. He had no chance on the other one. All 3 goals SH got were due to turnovers in our own end. Morrow had a particularly tough day (for him) and gave up the puck a few times.

Anyone else care to share what they saw?

I didn't see but heard Carvel talk about it in the press conference.

Ty for adding detail. I hope we improve quickly. Denver could be brutal. At least a lot of home games coming up.

Didn’t know where to put this, but I didn’t want to create a new topic.

Early in the 2019-2020 season UM “retired the #4” in honor of Pat Keenan. Banner is hanging in the Mullins Center.
Matt Kessel was wearing jersey #4 at the time and it was mentioned that he could continue wearing jersey #4 through his UM career. That career has ended, but through the Hockey roster on the Athetic Department website, I noticed that a player was issued #4, (Kennedy O’Connor). While I did not attend last Saturday’s event, O’Connor is listed as #4 in the stat sheet from the game.
I remember that a few years ago , MBB issued #30 to a walk-on for a short time before catching their error and changed the players jersey #.
I can understand the error on the MBB , as it must be difficult to remember the three (3) numbers that you have elected to “retire”. Hockey, only has one (1).
Any word on this? Thanks 😁

2-2 tie to start the season. Lost the meaningless shootout.

Was going to be hard for our fans to get down there with a late afternoon FB game taking place at McGuirk.
