UMass was overmatched. And, the O is much weaker than last year. Unless "Q" continues to win, looks like the Mid-West teams dominate NCAA bids this year.

thought the atmosphere was exceptional. Umass students do come but are not as active as many other college programs. I love the Umass band but these mid western schools amp it up even more. Definitely note taking worthy to see how their fans are.

When I was a student ~10 years ago the Mullins Center would have a great crowd every weekend. And we were mid-table at best in Hockey East. The whole side behind the benches used to be packed with students. It'd be "the" event on campus and the crowd would be rocking. Now it's just the group of students behind the goal. Another indictment of Bamford's tenure.

Are we sure the attendance isn't being impacted by COVID at this point still? The Omicron wave is still pretty massive, so there's likely a lot of students with COVID and a bunch more who don't want to risk it at an environment where it could be easily spread.

^ We are still 12 days away from students returning.

Next home game is Jan 21 vs Northeastern…the Merrimack home game was an add on.
