2021-2022 Games 5 & 6 vs Merrimack

Post by SignMan » Sat Oct 23, 2021 2:09 pm

(I did not count the Exhibition as a game)

Pair of tix+

I don't generally do this, but read some posts re: the already played games...

I have a pair of tix for next Saturday's home game vs Merrimack...
Inasmuch as IV is a stud poster and knows all the rules backwards and forwards, and is a generally nice alum dude...
He values STs @ $25 ea...

Well I have a double good deal here...
100% will be donated back to Hockey by me...

My pair in Section H, like in Hockey, along with a Parking Pass in Lot 67, directly behind Mullins, and a pair of Commonwealth Club Passes for pregame/during game access.

$25 x 2 (Math 101) = $50
1st come (via PM), 1st Puck Drop...

What a Deal... Tix, Parking @ the CC access entrance, CC access including the food...TYPICALLY, fruit and veggies, cheeses, sausages, crackers, maybe an antipasto... even no-duck. CASH bar...

What a DATE NITE OPP... You can stand right behind the glass during warmups (and the game if you prefer to stay there) and have puck after puck ricochet off the glass right in front of you...and you don't have to duck... hence, the no-duck.
The angle of incidence = the angle of reflection: REBOUND!

Interesting, Merrimack has played 6 games so far this season, and they are 3 and 3. They've won 3 at home and lost 3 on the road. Expect a tough game tonight.

Everyone at the game and not posting or something?

Got the lead going into the 3rd. Too many penalties in the 2nd though, so hopefully the play gets less sloppy. Murray has been pretty damn good in net.

Nice way to end the game there. Score the game winning goal with 4.7 second left.

Nice win - tight-checking game. This echoes how we played last season, tough to the last seconds. :)

The type of win we have come to expect from a Carvel team. A slow start, down 0-2, then a 4-3 lead. Sadly, gave up the tying goal with under a minute to play and won it in OT.

Scott Morrow with the winning goal in OT with 1 second remaining in a power play that UMass started the OT with as a result of a goal tender interference penalty at the 20 minute mark of the 3rd. Gutsy come from behind win for UMass.

UMass wins in O.T. with Merrimack down a man due to a last-second interference call in regulation. Merrimack is a 'tough out' but we take the weekend sweep.

^ Whatever happened was last minute. He was listed on the sheet handed out pre-game.

The sheet has the whole roster, not just those who dress.

That is incorrect, the line sheet give to the media and in the Commonwealth Club is for that game and not the whole roster. An updated line chart was distributed after warmups with the scratch and moved ADG to center the top line.

The roster sheet that goes to the general public that is for sale after you enter is the entire roster. Nowhere did he indicate his elite status 😁

Merrimack played very well. The game seemed a bit chippy; lots of hard hits. Having lost in the final seconds on Friday, Merrimack evidently really wanted to win this game and they took it to us. UMass had only 2 shots on net in the first period as Merrimack took a 2 to zip lead. I can only imagine Carvel's mid period lecture. UMass took control in the second period and lead 3 - 2 heading into the 3rd period. Merrimack increased their intensity and tied the game, 4 - 4. Unfortunately for Merrimack, one of their players took out Murry at the end of the 3rd period earning a 2 min. penalty for goaltender interference. We scored on the ensuing 4 on 3 power play.

Nice ending.

My "elite status" was that I saw the line sheet pre-game on twitter.
