I love watching this team, they play hard, play fast, and defensively really put in the work. Can't wait for tomorrow

So happy for Carvel and the kids. Bums me out that after spending all the millions on football after all these years and for them to win a single game is a huge accomplishment.

The game was closer to a 2 goal game than the 5-1 final. Throw in 6 penalties and that gave him the Saban interview. He knows they could have played a lot better overall. Lindberg and the pk saved them a bit. The offense did do a great job finishing out front and the defensemen had some eye opening plays jumping up on the play.
I know what I SAW and UMass skated circles around them. The Lake State goalie played great and UMass could have had even more goals. What a d-bag response to my comment. You couldn't just be happy with the win, could you.

I am happy with the win. I am happier with a coach who has 24 hours to get a team ready to play another game and knows how to gets the guys on edge, with a bit of anger, motivating then to play like they did against UML. One game won, one game to win. Where do you want their attention? And if that's a d-bag response to your post, so be it.

5-1 win and room for improvement? I'll take it.

Wow, what a weird way to look at my response. I’m very pleased with a 5-1 win. Carvel talked about the 6 penalties and how they took too many. Combine that with the score being 1-1 halfway through and Carvel has a legit reason to act like Saban. This team is rolling and not even playing their best hockey. They were clearly the better team and kept pressing and won going away.

Do either of you understand why I compared Carvel to Saban???? For the reasons you both stated--that there is always improvement! It was a compliment! Saban can win 70 - 0 or 10 - 7 and if he has important game coming up he finds all the faults to keep the team on edge. I thought the team team skated circles around Lake State, not Carvel.

Yes, the Saban comparison was very clear to me. What was also clear to me was the reasons Carvel had to act not satisfied. Umass showed flashes of skating around them but it wasn’t consistent for a lot of the game. Lindberg made 30 saves and they had to kill 6 penalties. It kind of hard to skate circles while doing that.

Wow, what a weird way to to look my first post. You came off as lecturing to me on the game by misunderstanding what I wrote...

Not really trying to lecture you. I came away from that game thinking more like Carvel than like you. Skating circles was a weird way to say how they won. Bemidji St is going to be a big upgrade in competition based on the way they won today.

MY view of "skating circles around them" is controlling the play of the game, for the majority of the game--which UMass did--in My view.

I'm not that so sure that BS is an upgrade, they lost to Lake State 4 -1 in the WCHA championship game. We know Carvel won't take them lightly like Wisconsin seemed too today.

This is great that we are having a discussion after a first round ncaa win. This team is our only hope.

It does feel good! I actually feel like an SEC football school (this is a compliment  ) where we are discussing the NCAA championships! I stood through many cold nights at Orr rink watching UMass hockey lose because one of the UMass players was an assistant to my father in the youth hockey program.
