Hobey Baker analysis- not familiar with all the candidates so I'm not sure how to evaluate. Interesting though.

Please remember that the fan voting is an incredibly tiny factor in the selection process.

Nevertheless, can you imagine when UMASS won 5 games that UMASS would have one Hobey Baker award winner and another candidate in the top ten (and potentially top three- final three announced 4/2/20 with the award on 4/10/20)? Not too many people would have predicted that. Good luck to Leonard. Just being a finalist is a great accomplishment.

Can anyone think of another circumstance where a D1 college basketball coach did more for his school's hockey team than he did for the basketball team?

^

I think he's in serious contention but not likely to come out with the victory.

I liked Bucci Mane's writeup on it:

Doesn't say he'll win, but gives some good reasons as to why he's certainly up there.

Unfortunately Leonard did not make the final three. Nevertheless he had an outstanding season and will go down as one of the best at UMASS. Always good to have a local athlete do well.

Huge thank you to all who have reached out checking in on John.
Incredibly scary moment for us all, but so eternally grateful that he is going to be okay.
He’s up walking around today & I am ever so thankful!
