UMASS vs NE in the first round. Have to feel good about this match-up.

And now we have this:

I was wondering with this if it would affect the hockey playoffs and NCAA Frozen Four and even the March Madness schedule. Lots of $$ involved

So far, for basketball at least, the NCAA has said they are playing at the sites still.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this effects all college sporting events. Amherst College just decided to close the school and go online only for rest of semester. And UMASS Lowell is voting tonight to do the same !!!!!

^ Also the Ivy League cancelled their conference tournament and is just awarding Yale (reg season champ) as their conference winner. Not going to matter once they cancel the NCAA tournament though.

The whole 'study at home online' aspect is mushrooming by the hour. It is worsening. Of course, no large events will be allowed on campus.

Honestly at this point Hockey East would be wise to just make the quarterfinals a single game elimination now. Even if Maine and BC are still going to allow fans to attend.

Based on what the NBA just did, coupled with the fact Harvard and Yale backed out of the ECAC tournament, we may have watched our last college hockey game of the season. Hope I’m wrong...

Yep. ECAC and AHA both reportedly cancelled. Rumors have WCHA in same boat. Hockey East probably next.

Of all the shitty ways for a season to end without UMass in the NCAAs, and as a pessimist I considered a lot of them, I never foresaw life threatening pandemic cancels entire season.
