The following is from Carvy's weekly email update. Pretty impressive:
"We never forget that hockey is just part of what we do and that to be the Gold Standard Program on campus there are three parts to it. First is being successful on the ice. Second and is giving back to the community and third is success in the classroom. I am extremely proud to announce that the team's cumulative GPA for the fall semester was 3.65!!!!! Now that's Gold Standard all day long!"

The hockey program does not get the respect and appreciation it deserves.

Re: Academic performance
String a couple good seasons together and they'll get more. I think people may think last year was a 1 yr wonder type thing, but we know the program is on the right track with Carvel

Re: Academic performance
it is good to see that our hockey has his priorities in the right order with number 1 being "put a good team on the ice". Too bad our AD had putting a good team on the field as like #4 on his letter that he sent out regarding the football team.

Re: Academic performance
I always found the hockey players in my classes (I taught at UMass in gradschool) to be very academically motivated. Those kids cared about learning, not just grades.
