That was the second worst goal I’ve ever seen in my life. Only thing worse was the goal that tied the 2015 national championship. Add in the Kiefuk broken jaw on top of Langunov being out for the season and Chaffee also out this weekend at least. I was fully planning on driving out to Amherst tonight but I don’t think I will now. Devastating weekend and it’s only halfway done. .

Terrible news. Thanks for taking the time to update us.

I thought we were going to come out with at least a tie.

What was up with Lindberg? Was he sick? Wonder who starts tonight.

Better days ahead. Keep the faith. Go UMass!

That goal was unbelievably bad. Murray was not even looking at the puck or the player who had it. He had dropped his stick, and one of the defenseman picked it up and was handing it to him. He too was not following the puck. And don't even get me started on Kiefiuk suffering a broken jaw, yet the Lowell player who hit him did not even draw a 2-minute penalty. Hockey East officiating is worse than ever and Bertagna cannot be out of here soon enough.

Whew, able to pull it out and get a split. Wasn't looking good after Lowell erased a 3-1 deficit in the 3rd period. But John Leonard to the rescue.

That was a fun game, especially after last night.

Hey, what happened to Lindberg yesterday? Why was he replaced?

Is Kifiuk ok, out for the rest of season? Anyone hear?

Big, big win. Huge. Major props to Coach Carvel and the team bouncing back from such a gut wrenching loss to a team you were 2-20-1 against in the last 8 years. Speaks volumes of the mental toughness.

As to Lindberg, I'm not sure. He let in a goal on the first shot. Then I believe he was late coming off the ice on a delayed penalty. Not sure if he got sick or injured or if it was related to those two things.

Edit: He was also interfered with on the goal UML got called back. Maybe he was shaken up on that?

Edit again: Apparently it was performance according to a quote from Carvel in the Herald

John Leonard...not much else to say. Tremendous and much needed win...hopefully Chaffee gets back for next weekend against a hot UConn team that swept BU this weekend. As for Kiefiuk, word I heard tonight is he is done for season. Same with Lagunov. Goal keeping was shaky this weekend, but I’m not going to worry about Lindberg and Murray. Let’s win out and get to the Hockey East finals.

thanks for filling me in on that. Hope he is okay. Bummed about Kiefiuk and Laganov.

was at game Saturday. Wild . I just have to say Leonards go ahead goal was magic but his empty netter should make the years highlight. absolutely amazing effort to dive for the puck and knock it up and watch it hit the back of the next in the air under the cross bar. Fantastic!!

BC unfortunately blew out Merrimack tonight. They’re up four points on UMass now with both teams having three games left.

This weekend, four points are a must if there’s any shot of defending the regular season title. Hope BU gets some points Saturday from BC and UNH finds whatever magic they had against UMass this season next week.

The loss to ConnU tonight, I take personally. Was fun to watch until the end. Now I'm pacing back and forth and shaking my head. Damn we need Chaffee back.

That clinches the one seed for BC. One of UConn or UMass could tie them, but BC has tie breakers over both.

UConn flat out dominated the entire game. Bad luck the net got knocked off before the puck crossed the goal line early in the first, but after that UConn was objectively better. For that reason, I'm not as upset as I was after the UML loss last week when UMass was clearly the superior team and somehow lost. Tomorrow is basically must win for a home series in the first round.

Should, not have blown the game in the last 2 minutes, but UConn is playing really well and at this time we simply don’t have enough bodies. And the bad news is Davidson got hurt last night. If he is out and Mika and Chaffee aren’t back tonight, we won’t have enough guys for 4 lines. It’s bad enough we have a freshman defenseman playing wing on one of our lines and other guys playing who have barely seen the ice all year, but possibly not having enough guys for 4 lines is startling. We are limping to the finish line. Still, this will end up the 3rd or 4th best season in UMass hockey history, and I’m okay with that. On another note, I will be shocked if this is not John Leonard’s final year in Amherst.

Agreed about Leonard.

Maybe time to call up someone from the club team, even just to sit on the bench in case of emergency.
