Perhaps I'm showing my age, but easily the greatest moment I've ever had as a UMass fan.

No, that was the greatest since we smucked Georgetown and Iverson. And the first period, 3-goal stretch is my greatest moment of fandom in any sport ever.

That almost came back to bite them. The DU goalie was absolutely shook in that first period. What a freaking game woke the whole house up when MDG's bomb won it - who cares. WE GOING TO THE SHIP.

See you saturday!
Great call from Bucci. He and Melrose have been awesome this entire tournament.

I know I'm in the minority but I'll disagree there. They were both pretty terrible last night. All they did was hype up the best players and talk about the penalties. Just listen to the final call, tons of silence followed by some Melrose bumbling and then Bucigross screams "Watch Out". Then he repeated it because he had nothing better to say. I miss Thorne. Great W for the team though.

MDG's goal will forever be in the UMass highlights like Mike Williams' last second shot against Temple, or Tony Barbee or Harper Williams' last second shots. Up and coming UMass program breaking through. Only a freshman and he's got a lifetime memory that nobody will forget. What a game

Trivigno suspended for the natty. I get it, but after the fact and when the Denver coach opted *not* to challenge the non-call. Damn.

If we play to win and at our usual pace, I think we can survive almost any absence ... but not the BC / third period from last night.

Regardless, shame to lose him for the NCG.

For anyone who is in Buffalo, this event is happening tonight and Coach Carvel will be there to join Buccigross and Melrose. All the credit goes to UMass alum Derek Volner at ESPN for pulling it together.

That's so freaking soft. So he's suspended because the refs didn't call a penalty? If he was given the game misconduct it would be time served and no suspension? I have no idea how these clowns make these decisions. I'm guessing they flip a coin.

Hopefully, coach of the year + player of the year on the team of the year = national championship!

Great time and really good of them to come! I met Bucci and Barry afterwards and they're both great guys. I also got my first "Hockey Least" shit from a Minnesota fan. I was warned about these arrogant western people. I guess that means we have really arrived.

While I tend to agree with your take, I have to admit that he deserves the suspension. I saw the play and it was a cheap shot elbow to the head. I'm sorry he did that but it isn't something they tolerate in college hockey. NEXT MAN UP!

The suspension was deserved. He left his feet and nailed the guy in the head. That said, the entire game was a cluster and poorly reffed. And the way that replay is being implemented makes no sense to me. Carvel Was all over refs at the ESPN event with Buccigross and Melrose.
