I think 100% lock is kind of silly. If they lose out and get swept in the opening round of the HE Tournament they are still guaranteed a top 16 spot? I'd much prefer 99.9% - maybe they just rounded up 8)

^Playoffstatus.com says they have a 96% chance of making the tournament if they lose out.

A couple of disclaimers: playoff status doesn’t consider ties when doing calculations. This is why they claim UMass has clinched at least the four seed. Only ways I can find UMass doesn’t involve BC taking 3 of 4 points from NU. Also, they assume the top 14 will make it and two auto bids will be from outside. It’s possible, though unlikely, that there are six autobids from outside the top 16, meaning that you need to be top 10 to be a 100% lock.

3 points away. I don't want to share with UML or PC.

Lowell ties Merrimack tonight. We need 1 point to clinch at worst a tie for the regular season HE championship and 2 to win It outright!!!

It’s that time of year when all the really good teams, except for St. Cloud, start to lose...Q lost to Clarkson. Minnesota State lost to 50th ranked Alaska, Denver lost to Miami, we lost to Providence...we remain number 2 in Pairwise after the weekend, with three extremely winnable games to go. BC swept b6 Maine. Call me crazy, but I don’t like the thought of BC finishing 8th and us having to best them in the first round

BC is 2 points ahead of UNH with 3 games left. UNH plays Lowell twice and then Northeastern. Crazy things can happen, but they could easily lose all 3. Unfortunately, BC's schedule is also tough and they could lose all 3 (Northeastern twice and Providence).

By the way, after the UConn win playoffstatus.com started showing UMass as 100% lock even if they lose out to make the NCAAs. First school to clinch. St. Cloud now also a 100% lock. Same disclaimers apply (assumes no ties and also assumes top 14 get bids)

Edit: After yesterday’s game, UMass is no longer a 100% lock. I have no idea how this is possible since neither game was a tie. :?

Has anyone seen the latest projection for the Manchester regional? Curious to see who might be in it and possibly planning an excursion.

The latest I've seen is here:
https://www.ncaa.com/news/icehockey-men ... acketology

I wouldn't put too much stock in this, and it doesn't include this weekend's games, but just to give an idea.

Northeast Regional (Manchester, NH):
2. Massachusetts vs. 14. Harvard
7. Ohio State vs. 10. Northeastern

East Regional (Providence, RI):
3. Minnesota Duluth vs. 15. UMass Lowell
6. Quinnipiac vs. 9. Providence

Midwest Regional (Allentown, PA):
4. Denver vs. 13. Cornell
5. Minnesota State vs. 12. Clarkson

West Regional (Fargo, ND):
1. St. Cloud State vs. 16. American International
8. Arizona State vs. 11. Western Michigan
-------------------------------------------------------------
Here's another from USCHO
https://www.uscho.com/2019/02/27/bracke ... -green-in/

Northeast Regional (Manchester):
15 Bowling Green vs. 2 Massachusetts
10 Northeastern vs. 8 Arizona State

East Regional (Providence):
13 Cornell vs. 4 Denver
12 Clarkson vs. 6 Quinnipiac

Midwest Regional (Allentown):
14 Harvard vs. 3 Minnesota Duluth
11 Western Michigan vs. 7 Ohio State

West Regional (Fargo):
16 American International vs. 1 St. Cloud State
9 Providence vs. 5 Minnesota State

For the Quarterfinal round, is the only broadcast through FloHockey? Any chance that NESN would pick up a broadcast or is it aired exclusively online through FloHockey? Thanks.

In past years, NESN has picked up one quarterfinal game from Hockey East. I guess it depends on the matchup and availability of production services.

I hope USCHO is correct. I would rather not have to play Ohio St in the Quarterfinals.

While there are "no easy games" in the playoffs, I also like this bracket. We lost at Northeastern 2-1 in OT but we put 46 shots on net to their 24. I don't know anything about AZ State but I'll take my chances.
