Re: 2018-2019 Season
SNHU Arena is 87.9 or 107 miles away from campus depending on which way you go (backroads is shorter distance, highway is longer), ranging from an hour 52 to an hour 57 in travel time (as of right this moment).
The Dunk is 87.3 miles away from campus (on what is really the only way to go) with a duration of an hour and 39 (as of right this moment).
I'd venture a guess that it wouldn't matter if we were 1, 2, 3 or 4 in the pairwise, we'd probably still be in Manchester. Which is fine since it's not far away from Boston either. 50-59 miles to the Dunk, 54 miles to SNHU area from center city Boston.
Would our fans have a bit more fun in Providence? Likely.

Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

We also have a good amount of Alumni in CT and NY as well... Also, I like like 20 minutes from the Dunk so.... C'mon! But you're right - our only hope for Providence would have been Lowell staying hot enough to get another of the one seeds... OR, UNH winning the HE tournament. Let's go UNH!!! Wait....

I live much closer to the Dunk as well. Both cities have good cigar bars, so I'm ok with either one.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
We're better off in Manchester than maybe having to play PC at the Dunk.
Re: 2018-2019 Season
Yeah but it's the NC$$ and their goal is to sell tickets.

Re: 2018-2019 Season
When PC won the national title they were a four seed, maybe even the last team in. Brown was the host but PC played in Providence. They beat Miami and Denver in that regional IIRC, both higher ranked and both had to go on the road.
The NCAA wants money and since hockey isn’t really a renevue generator it’s hard to blame them.

Manchester closer for me so hoping for that but Providence not bad either. Committee would try to keep keep us away from playing PC at the Dunk if we are a high seed.
Re: 2018-2019 Season
Latest USCHO bracket has us playing Bowling Green in Manchester...we win that and they have us playing the winner of Northeastern vs. Clarkson.

Anyone know why the team has an Spade on the back of their helmet?

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Not sure where to put this so this is as good a place as any. Went to the weekly sports luncheon today. Brock Hines and Coach Carvel were the speakers. Two comments by Carvy caught my attention.
1. He was asked about Mario's chance of returning. He said Mario wasn't ready for the NHL and thus far San Jose agrees. He expected him back unless San Jose has a roster shakeup on D and they feel they need him.
2. He was asked about the recruits he has for next year. He mentioned 3 forwards and 2 defensemen. I don't recall the name, but he raved about one of the D men. He has 50 points in 50 games.

Thanks for sharing. Ferraro coming back is a good thing.
