Looks like Noah Ellis won’t be coming after all.
Don’t know how recent this is.
Going to Maine.

He (Noah) is retweeting the commitment of someone named Nick Peluso to Maine, not himself.

^ Now why would he go and do that? Adds another layer to the tracking of recruits who commit in like 9th grade and then you have to wait like 4 years for 1) They change their mind and go somewhere else. 2) UM decides that they haven’t developed enough to help them and encourage them to go elsewhere. 3) UM / recruit decides that they need to delay entry for a year. Add in the transfers and the late commits who don’t hit the radar until Spring before the Summer enroll, and tracking hockey recruits is an active endeavor!

With the NHL draft element involved, it’s the best predictor of future ability among the Big 3, since it’s the only one where someone is investing a draft pick, which has current value, and willing to sign in the future which will be putting their money where their mouth is….mistakes cost the franchises.

I was being facetious 😁 Given that I had misunderstood the tweet.

Carvy said that Ryan told him that the decision was based on the Beanpot. Seems like we hear that more than folks on here might guess.

Also, we received commitments from two recruits this week. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that.

I love Canada but this outfit may not be quite with it. St. Andrew's College is actually a boarding school, grades 5-12 in Ontario Province. They may be "Canada centric" but if they produce good hockey players that come to UMass all is well.
