^ If you thought it was early to have an 03 commit (age 17), here's an 04 (age 16). It's Toot's grandson.

In case you missed this over the weekend. This would be awesome.

Taylor Makar ('01) is already committed and Calum Chau ('03) and Ryan Leonard ('05) are college prospects. Can't forget Nick Del Gaizo ('04) either. Certainly a lot of potential family connections for UMass hockey
Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
This would be really good news. All indications are that his scoring skills are comparable to John.

More praise for Minutemen legacy Ryan Leonard from the NEHJ and a prediction from Cox that he's near a lock to commit to UMass when he's eligible on August 1st 2021
Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
He's only a sophomore in high school, but he's an elite scorer. This is from a national HS tournament today (we love beating Minnesota schools):

FINAL: Pope Francis 7, Edina 3.
Ryan Leonard with a five-goal performance, and @PFcardinals will play for a national championship tomorrow afternoon at 12:15 p.m. Wow.

Springfield won. They beat a team from Illinois, 3-0.

The national high school and D1 college champions are both in the 413!
The Steve Lappas hire continues to look better and better if Ryan Leonard comes to UMass!

Did we know this about our PWO football kicker? A 2 sport walkon?

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
I’m rather new to the ins and outs of college hockey recruiting . Do we already know which of our recruits will be playing next year or is that decision made at a later date? I’ve seen the list on elite prospects but it’s difficult to tell who is considered to be “ready” to sign especially with the ages all over the place. I know we have the transfers , just wondering if any others are considered to be a definite.
Already can’t wait till next season !!!!

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
I think Makar is a definite, because he already stayed an extra year since signing. Other than that, I have no idea. I think we will probably hit the transfer market pretty hard and attract some top talent that way too. Being National Chyampion is bound to benefit the pipeline.

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
I believe that I saw somewhere that Noah Ellis - 6-2 D from Iowa (2020 NHL draft pick of the LV Golden Knights) is expected next season, there is another NHL draft pick, the following year.
I have seen the same recruiting lists and if the are true, there will be about 12 more coming
The ECAC/Ivy transfers are both forwards with very good histories so far in college. There are two (2) goalies, one who is 6-6 and another 6-3, don’t know their anticipation enrollment dates.
Being National Champions with a history of taking 1 year transfers, I imagine that there won’t be any holes in next year’s line-up.

— Cornell's Cam Donaldson and Dartmouth's Matt Baker. Donaldson had 12 goals as a sophomore for the Big Red. Baker was 6-18—24 for the Big Green. Neither played this past season, which there wasn’t for Ivy League schools.

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
College hockey commits are crazy, with the age thing and all. The 2020 NHL pick that I previously said was coming next year, shows a 2022-23 arrival!
Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
Yes and only list Trivigno as coming back. Ton of new names. Dizzying
