Next year's class of recruits

Post by 78 » Sun Mar 12, 2017 10:32 pm

I have no idea how much credibility this site has, but it ranks our incoming class as the 5th best in the country. Hoping FearTheTriangle and other college hockey experts will weigh in on this. Bamford's dad was tweeting this Sunday night.

I mean they're the best college hockey recruiting site because they're the only college hockey site. That said, they seem on top of things. I know they picked up some of the staff from Over The Boards when that site ceased operations and I used them for reference a lot.

It's pretty exciting to see this kind of recruiting class for Carvel's first cycle. Despite the record this season, things are really looking up for the program.

Fans shouldn't give all the credit to Carvel and staff for this recruiting class. John Leonard, Cale Makar, Matt Murray etc. are all Mick recruits. Carvel and staff are bringing in good recruits, but this class wouldn't be ranked nearly as high if it weren't for Mick's recruits staying committed to the program.

^ Fair. Either way, things are moving in the right direction, and that's all I care about. Thanks to Mick for getting the commitments, and to Carvel for convincing them to stay committed.

I think it is also important to note that Carvel was able to keep the top profile guys from de-committing. That, in itself is not an easy thing to do.

No factor in John Leonard being an Amherst kid and his dad having been on the basketball staff?

Really looking forward to watching this kid play here. 87 points in 60 games this season for Brooks Bandits!

Not sure if it will be 2017 or 2018 when he gets here, but Elite Prospects says this year: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=377479

If it's not 2017, it's never. Kid is going to be a lottery pick in the NHL draft this summer.

At 5' 9" and 165 pounds, no chance. Cale Makar on the other hand, the defenseman coming in next year, could be a top 5 pick in the NHL draft.

Sorry I thought Makar is who you were talking about. Probably should have clicked your links.

Just saw that we got 2 hockey commits. Probably not 2017, but does anyone have info on them?
