Ivy season doesn't start until next weekend for Big Green. Gives Dartmouth another game. Gives UMass the opportunity to fill one of two weekends off in October and maybe by doing Dartmouth a potential favor, it maybe gets them on the regular season non conference schedule in the future. Hanover geographically more favorable than the two far west or far north ECAC duos.

While Dartmouth is an easy ride, I'd like to see us playing Harvard.

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Carvy says that four of our top six forwards are injured and none will play this weekend. I wondered if college hockey teams ever bring in one of their future commits for second semester if the injured are slow to return, so I dug around a bit. Wilmer Skoog - who we just played against - joined BU from his junior team for second semester two years ago. I don't know why he made the jump.

UM had 3 players ( not including a goalie) not dress last Saturday, 2 forwards and 1 defenseman, so they have the bodies in the program. Farmer took some shifts up on Saturday, so depending on how they want to use him will depend which 2 of the 3 play on Friday night. 2 have already played this year and 1 has not.

And Lopina, Faith, Wait . Lopina and Cal K didn’t dress last Saturday. While Faith and Wait left Saturday’s game.

Lowell swept Vermont so we go into the break a point behind them in the Hockey East standings. Given the injury issues we're in a great position.

We will be so much better when we get more depth up front from returning players who were injured.

All of our lines will be better. More scoring will come and guys who were not expected to have as many minutes are not further developed.

I feel we are a top 10 team and will be an experienced team going into the tournament, which I believe we will make again this year.

Mid-season review of College Hockey - Mid-West colleges dominate the Power 10 ranking discussion - UMass is number 10. Scott Morrow was mentioned as a key first-year player. The writer is EVAN MARINOFSKY who also wrote for the Collegian.

Our games are 1/8 and 1/9 so it might be OK by then.

^ not covid related, Michigan is concerned about player safety as they have a lot of players at the world juniors. I'm sure its just a coincidence they canceled the game against the team that already beat them this season at Yost...

Breaking news:
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Due to health and safety protocols, this weekend's men's ice hockey series between Union College and the University of Massachusetts set for December 31 and January 1 at Messa Rink has been postponed.
It doesn't say which team caused the postponement, but I'm guessing it's Union. UMass has not released any news on this yet.
