bingo...yep that IS half the problem, or rather most of it, mainly due to AOL's dynamic IP's everytime one signs on through it...
There is a fix to it that Mike would have to do...bad news is that it's can undermine the security of the board, so not sure if that path wants to be travelled.
Best bet otherwise is to not remember being logged on and log in and out everytime you use the board (might change your password to something easier to type in)...

Corrupt cookies...I've had to do it a couple of times myself.jda71 wrote:I also have a cookie question. My log on doesent remain for the next visit, even though I check the box when I do log on. Is this a problem with a setting on my computer,or am I just missing something obvious? Thanks.
In your cookies folder (rather then just delete them all), trash all cookies related to umasshoops.com, then try auto-logging on again...

This board software, while great, has its quirks. Very difficult to code something that runs flawlessly with all browsers when it comes right down to it. And the PHPbb deal is really an open-source consortium, so it's not like the developers are making big bucks off it.
As Feato mentioned, dynamic IP addresses will generally prompt for a new login session.

Un-sticking this one too, may be moot now.
