Information
The specified search backend doesn’t exist.
I am, but wondering if it's just me as the admin, or if everyone sees it.

Anyway, I think I see what's causing that. Working on a fix.

Will also try to get our old red color theme back.
Yup - that's the exact one there.

I've used other phpBB boards before and haven't gotten that message at the others, but they were also typically not trying to migrate 15+ years' worth of data at the same time.

I just got the dreaded "information The specified search backend doesn’t exist" message after posting. The post made it into the forum though.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Getting the same message but posting works fine. Anyone else having the issue of some threads not marking as read even after "reading" them? No big deal just a little bug that needs squishing :D

Edit: Hitting "mark all posts read" can be used as a workaround.

Also, what are the new post icons? ie flame, some have stars on them (I think this means I posted on the thread?).

I got a message that said "Eldon loves you" so I presumed that I had been hacked and shut my computer off immediately.

  • Star = You've posted in this thread
  • Flame = This thread has a lot of replies (I think it's 25+ by default but that can be changed through the Admin control panel to be a larger or smaller value)
  • Red = Unread posts since the last time you've been in the thread
Anything I missed that's new? Like I said, I've been on this kind of forum before so I'm used to what the defaults look like.

Perfect thanks... I was most curious about the flame. Didn't know if it meant a lot of people recently looked at it, posted etc... Good to know.

I thought it meant that the thread had a particularly hot take in it. I guess maybe there is a little headshot emoji of Skip Bayless for that.

Ha, well I believe the official description of it is "Hot Topic" - which is unfortunate thanks to that store of the same name.

Feels great! Always been a big fan of phpBB boards. I would recommend switching the color of the forum to more UMass colors if possible. Also, I will try to get someone to create us a UMass banner for us all.

Thanks a lot Mike!

Am I imagining it or did the names and pictures used to be on the left? I'm all out of sorts.

Not imagining it. Being on the is the default for most online boards, but the default for this specific phpBB skin appears to have it on the right. There doesn't appear to be another option aside from the default here as of yet, but I'm assuming that when the UMass specific one gets rolled out it'll like push everything back to the left.
