I don't understand why UMass plays the winner of #4 vs. #5 instead of playing #6.

UMass has a bye. They do not re seed. So UMass plays the winner of the 4/5 game. That way they would not have to play the 3 seed if they advance.

A 10-9 win over the Hawks! We take a 7-1 lead, lose it at 8-8. then 9-9, before the game winner in the final minutes.

Well, that was not a nice way to end it. Down 6-1, come back to take a two goal lead, and then lose 13-12 to Richmond. Argh!
