Mentioning walking hitters, several years ago a player for North Reading High School, Stephanie Mayne, was walked 16 straight times in the Massachusetts state tournament. The championship game arrives and she steps up to the plate in the bottom of the first with the bases loaded. They decide to pitch to her...first pitch, grand slam. Game, set, match and NR wins the state title. Mayne ended up playing for the Minutewomen, but did not make a lot of noise in her career here.

"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

There is something poetic when we can "steal" players from Ct. away from Uconvicts .

What do you call it when UConn gets the best pitcher from WMass, who turns out to be their #1 pitcher, whose Aunt was a 4 year pitcher at UM?

^ Or possibly the realization that there was more potential to be the No. 1 starter at UConn and more PT.
