Jerod Mayo gone
Surprised the Pats let him go after one year, but I guess the Krafts came to realize they made a mistake.
I wonder if our old friend Liam Coen gets an interview?

Pretty confident Liam is on the short list, but they'll hire Vrabel.

Should have let him go at halftime. He couldn't even suck for one more game to lock up the #1 pick.

Seeing Jerod Mayo's big smile for beating a bunch of third stringers and losing the first overall pick was priceless. He knew that he was getting fired and gave the ultimate fuck you before walking off the field. Touché

They should have fired the GM before that game even kicked off.
Re: Jerod Mayo gone
He did. Krafts were morons for letting him coach that game, they had already decided he was gone before yesterday so why let him screw up getting the #1 pick? What a stupid awful game yesterday. I blame the Krafts for this whole mess. Bob grew enamored with a guy that hadn't even ever been a defacto defensive coordinator never mind zero experience as a head coach prior to this year. To hire him last offseason to follow Belichick was so freaking stupid. I just hope they go through the process of interviewing this time around. I don't have a whole lot of faith with how the front office is currently constituted. They are woefully understaffed from the Belichick era. Bill liked to keep everything tight in house so he didn't feel like he had a need for a whole lot of extra administrative people to be involved. It worked for awhile when we had the GOAT qb but it's time to go back to the drawing board. Krafts need to open up their penny pinching wallets again.inthescoop wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 11:59 am Seeing Jerod Mayo's big smile for beating a bunch of third stringers and losing the first overall pick was priceless. Am I the only one who's not broken up about them not getting the first pick? From what I've read, the top of this years draft isnt anywhere near as good as last years.

Re: Jerod Mayo gone
Bruiser was different and a different era. The fears around losing recruits and wanting continuity were definitely overweigh, but they were the reasons for hiring Bruiser. Have to remember also that Cal had never been a HC, had accomplished all that in 8 seasons, and Bruiser was his right hand man. Hiring Mayo had nothing to do with anything other than Kraft’s ego.eldonabe wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 4:01 pmQuann wrote: ↑Mon Jan 06, 2025 1:48 pmHe did. I'm not broken up about it. Sure, it would have been nice but they were likely to trade out of the spot to fill talent gaps, mostly via later picks I'm sure. They can still do that with the 4th pick to an extent since Hunter is up there, or they can possibly get Hunter or a top flight lineman.

Re: Jerod Mayo gone
Joe Milton having a good showing doesn't hurt. Packaging a qb & the 4th pick could bring them alot to fill some spots. Desperately need offensive line help and a few other key spots. Milton is an interesting guy, got some talent

Re: Jerod Mayo gone
^ I wouldn't trade Milton unless someone offers them a whopper of a deal. What could they get for Brissette and the 4th pick?
Re: Jerod Mayo gone
^ someone might give them some good value for Milton. They need a lot. You go for 1 guy at 4 or trade the pick and get multiple picks to revamp the line with mid round picks? I hate the thought of using that pick for a WR, all I can think of is Terry Glenn and Irving Fryer
