Game 10: Liberty
LU is beatable as their loss to Kennesaw showed this season, but not sure this UMass team has what it takes to win. LU is faster than UMass and better coached. UMass will have to play a perfect game, while LU will have to make a lot of mistakes for UMass to pull off the upset. To me this is the last winnable game for UMass. I think UConn is a better team than LU at this point in the season. I bet UMass uses a trick play or two coming off the bye week.
Re: Game 10: Liberty
if i were to sum up our coaching performance in second halves in two words it would be el sucko.. we should have beaten Miami and N. Illinois and the Toledo and E Mich games should have come down to the last drive.

Is Puma going to play?

Re: Game 10: Liberty
Just released the depth chart for the LU game and Atwood has moved over to guard, with Roy at center. As a former center, never thought Atwood was good at the job but Miller wanted him to succeed. Roy had some low snaps but was definitely better than Atwood. Atwood has the worst body type (all fat in the middle) and short arms for a center. He fits as a guard!

Re: Game 10: Liberty
Atwood definitely took one for the team the last few years after moving from the defensive side of the ball. It took him a bit to become serviceable. Sure hope the move works out for these last three games. I can see Atwood being a beast at guard. Have we really had no options until now? Maybe Puma had a say in who snapped him the ball?dennisdent wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 1:30 pm Just released the depth chart for the LU game and Atwood has moved over to guard, with Roy at center. ^Puma missed a lot of last season and hadn't been on field for spring ball or much of fall camp. Don't think Puma had anything to do with who the center was for the past two years. The backup center from last season is starting at Hampton now as their center.

Got it. I wasn’t thinking about how much he didn’t play last year. Thank you.dennisdent wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 5:02 pm ^Puma missed a lot of last season and hadn't been on field for spring ball or much of fall camp. Re: Game 10: Liberty
All I can say is Thank God we’re in the MAC. No more of these ridiculous schedules. Playing 3 SEC teams in one season is the dumbest decision. It’s just a shame UMass always has to do things the hard way.
Re: Game 10: Liberty
DD, think you will like UMass football starting next September. I hope they keep the temple game at home and drop either Iowa or Missouri.dennisdent wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 5:02 pm ^Puma missed a lot of last season and hadn't been on field for spring ball or much of fall camp. I hope we get a MAC schedule with the bottom teams of the conference, after only playing the good ones as an Indy. I don't see them dropping any games next season. Next season looks rough with the three P4 teams--all of them good programs. No FCS yet...ZooMass84 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 8:19 pmDD, think you will like UMass football starting next September. Probably. That said, Kennesaw State has a higher FBS ceiling then we do.
