2024 Season
Re: 2024 Season
I think this should be a positive change for the Offense. Still hoping we have an OL.

Re: 2024 Season
Season ticket renewals are out today. I'm adding a second seat this year (split it up to attend 3 games with someone last year). Time to get behind this program and have more success to propel them into a better spot to get a conference

Re: 2024 Season
Well, there is a premium for something. Tickets went up to $200 per seat from $175 and lot 11 up to $60. (Extra half hour of tailgating! Yay!-hope they have a traffic pattern that accommodates this!).minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 3:20 pmMy guess is ST will not be $175, unless they are charging a premium for Mizzou. That $175 was supposed to include a neutral site game vs UConn that got moved back home. It’s been $25 per game for a while.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:48 amQuann wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 11:26 am Quick question. Is there a link to a website for season ticket info for football? I did a quick google search but didn't see anything. I got season tix when they were at Gillette for the first couple years but haven't had them since then. Just wanted to look at current pricing and see if I want to bite the bullet for 2024. Thanks.
For some reason I could not find the press release for 2023 (it's somewhere....), but the single game tickets release includes the below:
https://umassathletics.com/news/2023/8/ ... n-sale-nowUniversity of Massachusetts Athletics also offers season and group ticket packages for the 2023 football season currently. Season tickets are available for $175 per seat and includes a ticket to all six home games played at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Packages also include complimentary parking with the option to upgrade to Stadium Drive or Lot 11 for just $50.
Re: 2024 Season
$200 to renew?!?!? 2022 was $125. I get there’s an extra home game compared to 2022 but is that one home game worth $75?

33% increase in two years per game. Last year the price was up $25 to cover the neutral site game presumably, that was turned into a home game vs UConn. This year the increase is $25 above that, $175. Small stadium and demand should be up. Especially for Missouri and UConn. No idea what the price for the general public will be per game. Added perks for STH, this year too. I sit at the 50 yard line about 18 rows up. Those are pretty sweet for $33. I assume all ST are in the prime seats (middle three sections on each side). I’d love them to be cheaper, but they aren’t too pricey, IMO. I posted on another board, that I used to pay $150 for the whole season for five seats.

Re: 2024 Season
Gotta offset the minimum wage increase from last year. Nothing comes without a price...
As we see with NIL, college sports is a business and ticket price is a way to preserve margins. Parking used to be free as well.
Minimum wage goes up, cost of security goes up, cost of overall logistics goes up, ergo ticket prices go up. Plus I would be shocked if the price is also not padded to support athletics overall. $200 for 6 games isn't a bad deal at all. However, you'll need to ride your bike and (your pedal bike, not the eBike that uses fossil fuels to charge) bring a bag lunch to keep it all in check... Although, there still may be a charge to lock it to the lamp post. Lamp posts cost money too...

Don't forget your bag lunch needs to be small or you'll have to store it in a locker

Hope others can report on the Boston Update. Curious about hints of the strategic plan, support of the program, hints of a conference move, noteworthy attendees as UMass President, BOT members, etc. Registration is do by tomorrow.

No surprise the price is up this year, we are hosting an SEC team.

Re: 2024 Season
I went, nice event.
President Meehan spoke. Introduced several Board of Trustees who were in the room. Also former State Supreme Court Justice David Lowy, who resigned the State Supreme Court to take a position at UMass. (A former UMass grad) was in attendance.
10 present football players were present. I thought a nice touch to have players present to include Kay'Ron Lynch-Adams and QB Phommachanh. Most, if not all, the Coaches.
Midnight ride guy spoke. Gridiron Club President spoke. It was very clear, and I get it, that they are really pressing for donations - particularly to the Collectives. Seems like Midnight Ride Collective is doing a great job. Clearly this guy is working hard - like Pat on the basketball side who does a great job.
Bamford spoke and, as usual, spoke glowingly about everything - guy should be a politician. First question asked was about conference affiliation. He did say he was asked about that about 3 times a day. While he would not be specific, my money in on that we are lined up for a conference and I would bet Conference USA. i wouldn't be surprised if this is accounced in the next few months. Of course this is just my speculation but I would bet on it.
All in all the best of the Football events that I have been to over the years.

Thank you vanmeter for the summary and seems like it was a very enjoyable event. Hope they have an event in western MAss, but realize probably not with spring ball just over a month away.

Agree. Was just sharing information. FWIW, SEC and ACC big stadium teams have similar per game ticket prices. NE teams Like Penn State, BC, etc. charge much more, per game for good seats.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 8:20 am No surprise the price is up this year, we are hosting an SEC team.

Should we then expect ticket prices to resume at last years renewal price for next season since we do not host an SEC team?minutefanjsf wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 11:42 amAgree. Re: 2024 Season
$200 for those seats isn't INSANE, but they really should offer a cheaper option for farther down near the end zone or something. Even ACC schools have much cheaper season ticket options than UMass
